When do eBay ask you to register for MP?

I have registered a family member to create account, with their permission. The next step is to list something to sell, but eBay haven’t asked at any stage of the registration for details to enrol in managed payments, do they do it when you list your first item?

When you list it they will ask for name id bank account and phone number before the listing is finalised

You can skip adding the bank account when making first listing, if you want to first make sure you don't get suspended permanently, then add it after your listing goes live or when you sell an item and receive payment.

I'd be adding my bank details at the earliest opportunity. I ain't listing anything only for there to be issues with payment/verification later on.

That is not a good idea. I tend to get suspended accounts due to this skipping steps on the managed payment.

Try listing an item and it should prompt you to do so.

You go through that process when you list your first item

I always skip the bank until I have sold first item, after first sale then I add the bank.

I haven't been give the option to skip adding fee payment and disbursement details before listing.
