Does ebay then store things like your passport number?
That sounds pretty illegal if they do?
But then... I understand why they would need to store to detect bad sellers (or buyers)?

What's worse is an uncaring monster that refuses to listen to appeals from sellers who have been banned for no real reason (not selling f*kes, not giving bad customer service, giving tracking with all orders) - and for which they are not allowed to see any evidence against them.

Just to be very clear and easy.... YES, always think that they'll store your info or whatever you give them.

DO NOT trust them any other way

They do not store the passport number, verification is instant once uploaded.

I've used same passport across 2 accounts and was accepted (they check name and d.o.b if address provided is real).

Any details you upload to ebay will be stored by ebay

Bank accounts, phone numbers, any documents etc

So yes assume they will. Only ebay know for sure but it's a safe assumption that they do

You can use the same passport a few times though do long as accounts are set up.ij the correct way..

If ebay asks you to provide a picture of passport or driving license, no worries just submit it. They will check if it is legit but won't store documents. That's why you could use the same passport for passing verification of several accounts.

However if they ask for passport or id number, they will store it.
