Selling ebook on ebay

Hello everyone,
I am aware that selling ebooks on ebay is gonna be restricted account which happened to my recently, but I am wondering to know how that are many sellers are doing that for a long time without getting restricted.
Any idea would be appreciated 🙏

I have a theory about that, I suspect that they create a listing and then run it for a day and then withdraw it and wait a couple of days and then put it back up for a day and continue on like this.

One interesting theory - another one to look at is how old the accounts are when they list ebooks...

The only way to make any sales is to deliberately miscategorised them. The world of booksellers is particularly weird, they're very precious about their trade and will report ebooks in the 'proper book' sections in an instant. That's in addition to those who will report you for copyright issues.

The only way to safeguard your account if to own the copyright, have the copyright owners permission or to stick to public domain material.

Then you need to list correctly in the 'everything else' category and list as a classified ad without a purchase option. Clearly this is totally pointless as you'll never get a single sale.

How others are managing it I do not know, but if you're forever re-starting with new accounts then you're easy pickings for those out to report your listings.

Try to market and manage the listing as a guide, "health guide digital book"

application might be the correct route but not the quick and rough way most ppl do it - even though this leads to account issues...

Wrong. You do not have to apply to sell ebooks, you simply need to list them correctly.

I dont know about ebooks,but I have been selling store coupons on Ebay,sometimes the buyer wants the codes so she can use it online instead of waiting for me t o mail her the physical,no problem.
But recently when I did that,i received an email from Ebay which said it has cancelled my listing as I am not allowed to sell digital products. and I should apply to do so.
So I applied,then Ebay said it is not taking any new applications.
so OP may be able to list it,but listing could be cancelled,like mine.
In my case,I have already delivered the codes,this is how Ebay finds out I am selling digitals,it is new to me,in the past I have no problem doing so.

This thread is about ebooks.

In any event, that's because electronic/scanned vouchers are prohibited, only physical paper coupons can be listed (under certain conditions). Even then, given the relatively small allowance, there's no need to apply.

if you are thinking store coupons are low price items,I sell mine for $16 and it is always sold within 2 hours,while other sellers ask for $30 .
I get them free and seldom need them,so it is a good way to rid them.

Since when do you have to "apply" to sell digital on eBay?

I received an email a few days ago,I was selling coupon and the buyer wants me to give her the codes so she can use it online,I did .
Ebay found out and cancelled the listing and told me about this policy that I should apply to sell digital.
So I applied ,then Ebay said we are not accepting any new application.
(I dont know how old is this policy,but last month I sold the same kind of coupon and no problem giving the buyer codes via Ebay messaging

seems like the eb agent did a bait-and-switch - got you to believe him/her about some nonexistent policy, which you did...and applied and eb now has a tab on what you want to do..so they said no - all of which are unnecessary

No,the email I received give me a link to Ebay policy .
I just sell a few store coupons,no problem until this month.

Do you sell them on "everything else" or its category
I got that message too, they removed my digital listings and told me that i can only sell them if i'm authorized

No,I listed them under coupons and giftcards.
Some buyers do not want to wait to get it in the mail,so they ask me for the codes so they can use them online.
Until recently this is not a problem when I use Ebay messaging to give them the code,but the last order,after I gave her the codes,I get a message from Ebay.
So this must be a recent policy .

EBay must be getting paranoid about any IP violations that may occur on digital downloads.
