Thumbs down 911 need some solid advise!!!!

If you read my other post you will have a better idea whats going on with me. In short forum one of my UK customers contacted my customers over the last 30days and told them they have all bought pirated software from me. I didn't know it was pirated but then again I didn't really look into.

Now I have about 10 people all wanting to file disputes and to be honest I dont have the $$$$ to refund them all. I am not the type of person that like to screw people over and I hate to leave an aged Ebay account but I am not sure what to do at this point.

The # 1 thing that concerns me is both of the Ebay and PayPal accounts are set-up in my wife's name, her personal information, SS # and our current address.

I wish I would have bought the Ebay stealth guide sooner and to anyone thinking of selling imported software dont do it your asking for a nightmare! In the description it even says Genuine but when I emailed the seller he said high end copies WTF do I do now.

What happens if I abandon my PayPal and Ebay account?
Can they be canceled with open disputes?
I have international and US buyers

I know someone here has been in this situation before I am looking for some quick viable options.

Hi, You won't be able to close your accounts with open disputes.

If you can't afford to refund you can abandon the account. Paypal will refund your buyers which will leave your account in the negative.

If you don't settle the negative balance PP will pass your account to a collection agency who will ring/write and try and get you to pay.

It's not pleasant but there aint very much they can do. You could negiotiate a reduced settlement or payment plan at this point to get them off your back.

how much money are we talking? That makes a difference....but generally real info + paypal = pay up sooner or later....

Oh, and lets not have that old story about didnt know what goods were, with a few exceptions we know what goods are by way of where they come from...I see that alot on forum..

if you leave it :-

1) the money will minus in your paypal account
2) they will try to take the money from you card or your bank (if you have not cancelled with you card provider and bank)
3) the will send you lots of reminders to get your balance back to standing

FINAL

they will give your debt to the debt collectors

trust me they will give you such a headache because they have your details
ringing 2-3 everyday

my opinion

if it not alot of money your better paying it back it's not worth the hassle

then start to use stealth accounts

Thanks for the advise guys it probably about 6k total.
I dont have the money now.
Everyone stuff has been shipped also.
I am not happy about leaving my situation either. This guy from the UK really F%$# me up by sending out his F$%^ letter.
So just so I understand this Paypal will reimburse everyone so in the long haul PayPal will be out the money?

HTF could your UK customer get the addresses of your customers? Don't do an overload with the story..... Frankly you would have been better to add onto your other post. Different people may answer & you are going to get different replies over the forum.

GreenBean,
Your right I should have just added but I was so fired up I just started typing.

Alot of the people I sold to actually also are sellers. The only way I can think of him doing it is asking a question through the sellers auction to make contact. It sounds like a stretch but to the best of my knowledge thats what he did

GreenBean thanks for sending the help my way, I ment to thank you

First off sometimes to get your hands clean you got to get a little more dirty. If you can get back on ebay under real stealth and sell some more of that software if it's still available then I would do it.

Do it the stealth way this time spread out accounts. Pay those people back and save your wife's credit and god knows how many other things.

I know it's not right if you FEEL BAD...IF that's the case

go get a second job pay people back then and watch what your selling ...the good old way to make money and pay a debt.

If people's software was not working when they got it and they got ripped then it would be a different story.

not trying to start a ethical pirated software thread and if its right or wrong...just telling you your options...

$6k is a lot of money....

Was it copies of Windows or Office by any chance?

Cheers.

Maybe try to work with your customers. I find that sometimes customers are willing to accept a partial refund if they do not have to actually return the item. Good luck!
