Why some account on ebay limit high, some small

Why some account on ebay limit high, some small?

What ebay is the decision based on?

Some account 20/250, 50/700, 70/3500

Re: Why some account on ebay limit high, some small

A lot depends on the setup of the account passing security flags...the exact algorithms are probably only found out via trial and error

Re: Why some account on ebay limit high, some small

It also depends on wether the account is personal or business, business accounts generally get their initial selling limits higher than personal ones.

A huge number of factors. Limits can be anything from 10 items to 50k items on a new ebay

There isn't any one thing that determine that you have to score highly in all their criteria to get the highest limits

Re: Why some account on ebay limit high, some small

Like others said it depends on what you used to set the account up. Datacenter IP, voip number, antidetect browser etc will give you lower limits

Bro there is actually a trick on how to get big selling limit my friend shared it with me. If you wait just 1 month (30 days) from when you registered your new eBay. Then after this time you register it as a seller you would get massive limit.

My bro in US gets $50k selling limit doing this bro. I tried it on uk and to my amazement it worked bro lol but wasn’t 50k more like £38k selling limit.

And when you did this, it's 100% you get the high limits ? Over and over again?

Re: Why some account on ebay limit high, some small

Yes waiting 30+ days will give you higher limit.

Re: Why some account on ebay limit high, some small

High limits are good but you still will need to warm the account up.
I have always thought high limits do not matter. If you warm up the account right your limits will increase naturally or you can ask and they will upgrade.
Anyone selling 50k on a new account will get it shut down.

^^^ this.

See lower limits as a good way to grow an account naturally and an enforced defense against attracting unwanted attention.

Wrong you don’t have to warm/heat any account up brother. You just let it sit in the background for 30 days then turn to seller for bigger limits.

What this does bro is it also allows you to list an item straight away by not receiving that dreaded reactivate your eBay account email from eBay.

Try it you will be amazed. Since I been doing this I been listing much higher end products in my business now.

So you are telling me that after 30 days you can list to the max and sell the max and not get shut down or that eBay does not investigate the account?

You're missing the point, they're rightly saying that high initial allowances can be the devil in disguise. Go big too quickly and you'll almost certainly get suspended pending investigation.

On a stealth account this could spell the end before you've even started.

It depends on what you sell brother. I sell products ranging from £50 to £600 shipping all over the world. The plus for me is I can list a product for this price and not worry about a message from eBay to inform me of reactivate your account. I have some back ups as I don’t put all eggs in one basket and focus on one account.

If I sell £600 product bro I would wait about a week to sell again on same account if it’s lower I can list another one once it’s sold.

Yes I have been here years too.
I know from experience if you list to much too fast you will get shut down.

You are missing my point.
So you sell £600 item once a week.
£600x4 is £2400 so a £50k limit is wasted.
I am trying to say that by warming up the account you will have a longer lasting account.

I doubt you can do this safely without slowly ramping up sales...going gungho so quickly feels off

I have always went slowly slowly and it’s works well for me.

Re: Why some account on ebay limit high, some small

Over years of experimenting, I found a way to consistently get high limit accounts. I dont even bother to look at limits but its somewhere in the range of 500 / 5k / 50k items usually. Honestly just trial and error and I dont mean to be a dick, but its not something I would share here since whenever I asked on this forum people were always super secretive about it. In any case, its pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it.

I did get a really odd limit recently of 16 items though, and I have no idea why. Yes, 16. Not 5, not 10. But "16" which is probably the strangest limit Ive ever been granted. Oh well.

I do have some older accounts with 5 item limits which is annoying since seller limit increases dont come as automatically for me as they used to, not to mention that calling in for me literally results in a 100% ban rate (vs before when it was never). But its also worth noting like everyone else has said that just because you have a high limit doesnt mean you can start selling guns-ho. Still gotta ramp up esp if its a new account

I find this is only kinda true for much older accounts. Like accounts I created many years ago and simply never got around to using them, and/or only sold a few items on them then forgot about the account until today.

This can happen if you require sign in and get “new device” email when you convert to seller

Zero outside of 30 days brother meaning my first listing is 100% successful.

Prob 9/10 if sellers created before 30 days. Listing will get instant suspension or that reactive email message which is basically a suspension anyway.

What are you listing as first item? Auction or buy now? Do you get new sign on email right before registering as seller?
