I have experienced both. |

I have experienced both. | Of course it is a general term BUT I am talking about MC999 at the early stages. I am not talking about receiving MC999 6 month later. If you received MC999 at the very early stage after account creation then it means eBay was not able to verify your identity, they linked your account (s) to another suspended account or they they were able to identify falsification/tempering in your documents. |

People who claim they use real info are using stolen dubious information and then claim it is completely clean because they assume buying DL SSN PASS on the dark web means it hasnt been reported as compromised. You dont think they have a central database where these very docs are being reported in mass as compromised? You dont know anything. Sit the F down U RAT! |

| gerald | 03-04-2026 07:51 AM | Re: How are you guys making new uk accounts ? I have access to a decent number of legitimate ID's. I'm currently running 6 eBay accounts, 5 business, 1 personal. I do not sell dodgy gear although I will admit I have lost a some in the past due to me pushing the boundaries of legitimacy.
I have never had any issues in creating these account. Not one.
The suggestion that there are 'ban waves' is, in my opinion, forum Chinese whispers, gossip and misplaced assumption based upon stealth failures.
If you've opened a legitimate account recently then you'll know eBay are all over you trying to get you up and running, selling and anything else they can do to further the account. My most recent, opened on 30th December already has a 1,890 / £25,000 limit without even asking.
IMO the suggestion that eBay don't need new sellers is ridiculous, AI and their existing systems/procedures can manage whatever is thrown at them. |
| murdered_by_ebay | 03-04-2026 09:47 AM | Re: How are you guys making new uk accounts ? 6 accounts are a large number , how much time did you spend creating them? you should definitely let the aspkin admins know that ebay uk account opening is easy again as they lost all their account sellers due to suspension waves
and the TO is likely stupid losing dozens of accounts |

Re: How are you guys making new uk accounts ? Mass suspensions do exist historically, spring and summer are the best times to sow your seeds. Ban wave can start from October through till about March. That's not to say that you cannot make successful accounts during this time, but it just seems to be harder. And you might find that your accounts get wiped out in one fell swoop. |

I speak from experience and careful observation. If what you are using is truly legit , not stolen and belongs to you, you won't have any issues with verification. Therefore you will have much better chance to survive on eBay without receiving MC999. Once you passed verification stage , if you dont violate policies , dont have sudden spike in sale or a bunch of chargebacks/INRs, you wont have any issues. Why? Because you won't trigger the algorithm to flag your account. Anytime eBay sees inconsistencies the alarm bells are up. Reminds me of this old game " Little Big Adventure", if you know you know. |

In any event, you're missing the point. I'm creating legitimate accounts with legitimate and verifiable detail including a bank account in the account holders name. They're not opening accounts 'again' as you claim, they never stopped opening legitimate accounts and has always been 'easy'.
The sellers here had two major issues, firstly they were useless at creating accounts and secondly they were using fictitious and/or stolen details which they knew fine well would never be verifiable. It's got nothing to do with a 'ban wave' as you claim, they were 'approved sellers' and should know new account requirements and how they system works if such a policy exists.
I'm sure you know this but I suspect you were simply trying to be facetious. Quote:

How about this :
1. reformat your computer completely or get a new laptop for cheap
2. IPburger residential static IP
3. use firefox browser
4. Put your bank info in or your CC.
don't list for a week.
then do a 7 day auction for a brand new clothes hanger with new photos taken by your camera or phone. On the phone, strip all the digital info, transfer photos to laptop.
Start auction at $5
Don't use the eBay app ever. |
I tried this exact process , even used an anti detect browser too. Listed an auction as suggested today and was banned not even 5 mins after . I did login from my safari on my phone once but no way eBay’s tracking can be tha advanced.
I don’t know what else it could be |

I logged in from my phone by accident
I have another account I made at the same time as this one but have not logged in on my phone only the anti detect . But I don’t know what to do differently on it to not get banned on first listing . |

Ok then if the issue ain’t ip and mobile hotpot can be used , what is the reason for all the suspensions , what could it logically be . |

People seem to forget the basics of stealht. I'm pretty sure that when you first started using ebay back in the day that you didn't try to open a seller account the first time you visited the site. You surely clicked around the site for a while, you saw something you were interested and added to your basket, maybe you clicked help pages about how to create an account etc etc.
Nobody is going to spoon feed people here, we all hard to learn the hard way. |

As for the hotspot debate, it may be fine. But you can't tell me that massive abuse from that type of connection wouldn't alert a bot. This falls right in line with the days of using a VOIP for phone numbers. Residential IPs are proven as a hard point of existence and can be made fresh. Not just some random reused generated hotspot IP. They do recycle them and it could be potentially flagged in the UK database and range of possible IPs. |

When asked to verify, you will only need to provide your EIN creation letter. May save you quite a few pounds on creating companies.
Edit- It seems to be legal with the IRS to be a uk citizen and still grab an EIN. Maybe more of a hassle comes tax time, but it's an outlet that works here in the States. |
