Maybe I need to use a multi login system to change the device id being shown ?

Have you checked CanvasID on browserleaks to see if your anti detect setup is giving same CanvasID for each profile?

You don't need a fresh d-edicated IP, use tethering with your phone. If you are using mac then you can use a new user profile. It's unlikely to be your set up and more to do with the fact that your account creation behaviour does not reflect that of someone who is new to Ebay

Yes, I agree. Nothing to do with IP. Tethering is absolutely fine.

It's a combination of device linking and account behaviour that's the problem. Less rush to list will see better results.

Thanks

I will add to this... I really don't think it's your device. I've never heard of a problem with MAC partitions because it's a true new device, not sharing any old data.

Your IP: I always use a residential IP now.

Your phone: always a real phone, never a service or voip.

Address: Private mailbox stores are the secret.

I just don't see eBay going to the lengths that, say, Amazon tries to grab a device's information.

Re: How are you guys making new uk accounts ?

It's not always about device or about your network , it can also be about the registration. MC999 is usually when eBay is unable to verify your identity. If you register as a fictious person or provide documents that cannot be verified or are tempered with , eBay will MC999 you.

Re: How are you guys making new uk accounts ?

if you continue listening to people explaining to you that ebay uses a sophisticated tracking system looking at every small detail you will not solve anything

in reality ebay looks at a few features like IP and the rest is completely meaningless

the reason for the suspensions is that they do not need many new sellers anymore so that they limit how many people can open accounts. the vast majority of new accounts will be closed down regardless of which settings you choose and which IP's you use

US accounts have priority , anything outside is secondary and will be closed down even more brutally. third world countries are the worst , they just get taken down at nearly 100%

I agree with on majority of the points you made.

I totally agree that eBay DOES NOT need new sellers. Especially not personal accounts. They treat LLCs with a lot more respect BECAUSE the intention of an LLC is to:

1. Run a legitimate business

2. Report taxes!

I am sure eBay has been fined by IRS ( other countries too) so many times that they decided to ban any account if they provide either false , tempered with info or if they cannot verify your identity.

Like I said in my previous post. I think majority of MC999 aren't necessarily due to poor registration such as IP/Phone but due to lack of verification. I am sure if you are able to provide eBay with verifiable name , address and SSN from the get go, the likelihood of you losing your account diminishes by a lot.

they do not check any of these details on new accounts therefore it is not gonna be any good as far as initial suspensions are concerned. later down the line maybe but first you need to survive long enough

some people here are also wondering why 2/3/4 months old accounts get closed down , it is the same thing and it has been running since about 2020/2021

suspensions always come in two waves. the first wave are "welcome" suspensions on opening seller account and the second wave within 2-5 months are "overhead" suspensions where accounts are swept away in bulk if they are found to be unnecessary

Okay now I completely disagree with you unless I misunderstood you. They definitely check to make sure they can verify your identity right from the start. If they cant verify you will get MC999

do you have any proof they check identity right away? my proof is that I had a number of accounts where I was selling without problems with incomplete or bogus details and only after a while they were asking for proof of identity if they could not verify , usually after a turnover of a few hundred pounds

Yes murdered is right there, if they cannot confirm your details from the start you will get a few hundred pounds limit to sell then they will ask for ID. You may or may not get suspended before then

if they can not confirm details they will request to correct them likely with ID upload request

so from the start they do not check but that comes later

and this is where many people get it wrong , they think there are major checks which lead to welcome suspensions but in reality it is almost 100% random with just a few features playing an additional role like IP , country of registration

they do checks right from the start, as this will determine the selling limits they give you, or whether you they give you any selling limit at all

and before MP they were also determining limits on account registration without having reliable personal details on file , how do you know it is different now?

Difficult to assess how different it is, exactly.

I have tons of proof. Trust me they do. I am not going to sit here and explain how do I know this but yes they ABSOLUTELY do. When you get MC999 it is mostly due to ebay not being able to verify your identity.

you don't because they will never tell you

Re: How are you guys making new uk accounts ?

I think I can split the opinions here with a fair suggestion. Mc999 is a very large term to umbrella why they banned an account. Whether that be: can't confirm identity, patterned rule breaks, risk management of listed inventory, etc.

I have experienced both.

murdered_by_ebay 03-03-2026 09:28 AM

Re: How are you guys making new uk accounts ?

this topic is solely on welcome suspensions

these are not related to failed MP verification

Of course it is a general term BUT I am talking about MC999 at the early stages. I am not talking about receiving MC999 6 month later. If you received MC999 at the very early stage after account creation then it means eBay was not able to verify your identity, they linked your account (s) to another suspended account or they they were able to identify falsification/tempering in your documents.
