SCHUFA check is done by default , not registered in SCHUFA essentially means the guy has no official german residence or provided wrong address on ebay

check through SCHUFA in Germany is essentially the same as SSN check in the US , just in Germany they use name+DOB+address so that all 3 values must match SCHUFA data to pass verification , if they do not they will not allow the verification to pass regardless of which documents are uploaded

Germany is very strict , much stricter than any of the english speaking countries , every resident there has an official address printed in passport and that address must be the verification address on ebay , this way they match address to name and DOB so that even german citizens living in other countries can not pass verification if they don't have an official german address

Our issue is not whether I am registered with SCHFA or not. My account has already been closed. What I am saying is that €8,288 is missing from my account balance, and this amount is not reflected anywhere in my account transactions.

They cannot simply remove the money from my account just because they were unable to verify my identity.

They told me again that I would receive the money within 250 days, but they also confirmed that the missing balance is unrelated to that process.

I contacted them again and spoke with approximately five different customer service representatives. Every single one of them acknowledged that there was an issue. The last representative told me that they would resolve the issue for me and get back to me with an update. I am currently waiting for their response.

They also mentioned that they may not have responded to my emails because they have been receiving a very high volume of emails.

The fact that there is an issue is already clear from the screenshot I provided, and their representatives also saw and acknowledged the issue.

So for now, I am waiting to see what response I receive.

When they close the account abruptly like this, it's because they think they have probable cause to do so, doesn't mean it's the right thing to do, but this way they also protect themselves and subsequently gives them a way to cancel their terms/agreements with you and legally retain those funds.

You need to find a way to prove your identity to them if the legal route isn't an option and keep filing for appeals.. Proving ID isn't hard fyi.

One question, how are you seeing the balance reflect as 0 when your account is closed and you've lost access to it?

If you noticed it before they removed your access, I'm sure they defaulted it as the account was already on it's due process of closure.

ID is not enough here as it has to be ID + residence , if he is a german resident but with another address legal action would be promising as ebay would be forced to consider this but if he is a foreign resident they will never pay out the money

True, also if he knew someone in Germany that could confirm this on his behalf it could work.

Tbh I'm not sure of OPs setup, not sure why he chose German ebay of all countries lol but yes there is always a way - otherwise it becomes an expensive lesson..

Why is he on EBay Germany and not Ebay (USA)?
It looks like his items sell well on Ebay DE given the amount Ebay withheld.

I had encountered the MC999 suspension on other accounts several times before. They always paid out the funds after 90 or 180 days. But this was the first time I’d run into a 190-day hold.
