Can not login an old eBay account, but still sell everyday.

You used someone else's info when you switched the account to managed payments a few years ago?

ebay will still send payouts for old accounts even if the orders were not fufilled. and if buyers opened cases and escalated the cases, ebay will give buyer money back and those refund will end up with selling fees, ebay will collect the fees from op's bank or credit card if there was one collected to ebay. if the bank account was vitural, then there is debt that cannot be paid and ebay account will be susupended. And there is a very high rate for not received. I think the situation is likely this. it seems there is no better solution for this situation.

You could try searching different carriers and asking if that specific number is available to lock up - it's a crapshot but doable.

He does not have that phone anymore .

Your comment on calling the number and seeing if it's assigned or not is a good one - in order to try to get the number. This second option...Idk ...maybe worth a shot

A lot of people don't answer phone calls from unrecognized numbers anymore thanks to the epidemic of spam calling and the anxiety that younger people have over talking on the phone in general. This wouldn't work.

yes but what triggered the phone verification

in many cases If you have access to the email. try the link forgotten password and reset your password with email. You might be able to login without the phone verification anymore.

Having access to the email account isn't going to be enough to regain access to the account. I've been trying to get back into an old account of mine with an expired phone number for over a year now.
