Brought a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ bag from ebay member

Someone please give me advice.
Bought a really expensive bag for my wife that was listed on EB, The seller sent me an invoice from paypal and didn't check that it wasn't an EB item it was only listed as GOODS in the paypal form. I Paid them and have just received the bag and its a ⊗⊗⊗⊗.
I have logged a dispute with Paypal and have not heard from the seller.
Paypal says the transaction is not covered by buyers protection because it wasn't brought through eBay.
How can i get my money back?

well if its a good ⊗⊗⊗⊗ no one would even know that it was ⊗⊗⊗⊗ :D but hope u did'nt pay alot for it and u should know that ebay is the last place you shop for high $ handbags cause 90% of them are ⊗⊗⊗⊗

I paid a fair amount for it.
I just want to know if there was something else I could do to get my money back.

So because the seller sent an invoice labeling it as goods you can't get your money back??

newebayerwannabe 11-10-2007 10:32 PM

I received the bag but it ⊗⊗⊗⊗ so I logged a dispute stating that ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED.
Cant get the money back if the seller doesn't release it.

If you file a claim you should get your money back regardless of whether the seller releases the funds or not.

Did you pay using credit card funds or paypal balance? If credit card, you could dispute it... and get your money back that way. But doing this will limit your Paypal account.

I once opened a paypal dispute stating that an item I recieved was “not as described”, and paypal almost immediately settled the dispute by saying they don’t get involved in disputes over “quality of items”, and that the case was closed. A human didn’t even deal with my dispute. It was all automated. As soon as I ticked the “not as described” box and clicked OPEN DISPUTE, I got the email saying that the case was closed. I was very pi%%ed off. It was just a shirt that cost me $40 or so. Not a huge amount, but still...

I contacted the seller (who had previously been unhelpful and rude and unwilling to refund me) and threatened him that if he didn’t give me a refund, I would be bidding on his items with different ebay accounts, not paying, and leaving negative feedback, again and again until he gave me a refund.

Needless to say, he got scared and gave me a refund. hehe

If a problem like this arises again, I know not to open the paypal claim as “item no as described”. You won’t win. If you really want your money back, the only thing you can do is lie and say that the item was never delivered. (provided the item wasn’t sent with a tracking number)
 :D
