I once opened a paypal dispute stating that an item I recieved was “not as described”, and paypal almost immediately settled the dispute by saying they don’t get involved in disputes over “quality of items”, and that the case was closed. A human didn’t even deal with my dispute. It was all automated. As soon as I ticked the “not as described” box and clicked OPEN DISPUTE, I got the email saying that the case was closed. I was very pi%%ed off. It was just a shirt that cost me $40 or so. Not a huge amount, but still...
I contacted the seller (who had previously been unhelpful and rude and unwilling to refund me) and threatened him that if he didn’t give me a refund, I would be bidding on his items with different ebay accounts, not paying, and leaving negative feedback, again and again until he gave me a refund.
Needless to say, he got scared and gave me a refund. hehe
If a problem like this arises again, I know not to open the paypal claim as “item no as described”. You won’t win. If you really want your money back, the only thing you can do is lie and say that the item was never delivered. (provided the item wasn’t sent with a tracking number) :D |
