Question Is selling an autograph, risky?

Hello,

I've got an autograph of a fairly famous soccer player that I want to sell on ebay.

Just wondering if this would be considered risky and would raise suspision on my account.

My account is about 40 days old, and I have feedback of 16.

any thoughts?

cheers

I don't see it as a risk, people do it all the time, no?

Not risky, most of the signatures are ⊗⊗⊗⊗ anyways. No saying yours is...

lol... yea that's why I asked. Ebay is full of them, I don't wanna get tarred with the same brush!

It's amazing, I've seen sellers on ebay who are making a living from selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ signatures. Thousands a month. You'd think ebay would do something about it.

oh well..I'll list mine I guess...

Default Baseball

I sold a baseball with ted willaims sig-plus the whole teams sig. Of course it was ⊗⊗⊗⊗ and I made sure to state in my listing I didn't know if it was real.

But the ball was from the 50s and prob. a promo ball given out by the team with the sigs printed on the ball.

Sold it for 175.00.

I listed a signed picture of a famous Ca. Angels player standing next to a U.S. President.

I didn't have any issues with the listing, but it never did sell?

I ended up just giving it away as a Free Gift with some other item I sold.

as everything else, it probably just depends on how long you are as a member of ebay. I sold a few signed Yankee balls and never got into any trouble with ebay... That account was over 2 years old though.. so you never know

I have dealt in autos for years- not much anymore .. if someone does a ' QUCIK OPINION ' where you pay $7 for PSA to look at it and it fails it will get removed and if you get another 1 or 2 you will either be banned from selling autos or suspended - it just depends on your account history .

COAs make me laugh too, its like selling a Rolex, with a photograph of a Rolex to prove its genuine. If you just do one autograph at a time you should be ok unless its something very valuable, like a signed David Beckham thong (dirtied). If you do loads then eventually you will draw attention. Gerrard and Owen went to court to sue someone for using their signatures on autographed memoribilia, but he's been doing it big time for a while-

COA's are really useless unless from the actual signed person or a actual authentication company .. anybody can print out and make up a COA for themselfs , but unexperienced buyer fall for it everytime so it does seem to help people selling.
