New DSR system coming in April - Worried as I am?

So in April the new DSR requirements change from needing a minimum of 4.3

Now you can only have 2% of your ratings or LESS THAN 3 of your ratings be 1 star or 2 stars.

This is according to their site and on the seller dashboard.

So basically out of 100 transactions you can't have more than 2 people give you a 1 or a 2 on any of the 4 criteria. Once you go over that, back of the listings.

I have a friend who sells 700 things a week, and only has 0.5% of the ratings as 1 or 2, but selling 35,000 items a year, how the hell is he going to get "less than 3"

The more you sell the more chance you have of bad customers, or stupid ones who think 1 star is good.. who knows?

I was just inside the limit at 1.97% last year for shipping time even though I sent daily with all the strikes going on round the world. At the same time that equated to 14 out of 860odd feedbacks.

Does this mean I'm gonna be banished to the back? This can't possibly make sense

International dsrs dont count against your rating .. and it is the pct not just 3 once you sell in volume .

This is something that has been coming for some time. I'm not sure how strict they will be with it.

If you sell 35,000 in a year, you can be below 2%, this is 700 low DSR's.

A lot of things eBay does doesn't make sense. I'm sure this will change again next year. When they first implemented the DSR system they lost a lot of really good sellers.

Oh.. the 3 being greater than 2% if you don't pass 100 feedbacks makes sense.

The international buyers thing not counting.. how does that work?

Say you're in the states and you sell a lot to the UK by posting on ebay.co.uk

If you get higher than 2% from ebay UK buyers for shipping time (most likely one), will you go lower on the list on that site?

Because I ship abroad a lot, my stars for shipping time were under 4.3 when that rule first came about even though I shipped daily (until I started asking people to leave 5 stars)

I went to the back of the list for a month until it crept back up over 4.3 (over 4.6 now)

So yeah, they do enforce their rules

Also PM me for a possible way around it if you're getting shunted to the back because you're getting too many 1's or 2's

I have a hunch that may let you go over the 1's and 2's allowed from your local buyers and not suffer.

Oh I'm sure they'll enforce it, I hate it with a passion.

Other companies have adopted a similar survey system, and it's just absurd. Your feedback should only tell other potential customers what to expect based on their experience.

To use is as a tool to force people into dancing at eBay's drum beat completely makes the very idea of eBay, an online auction marketplace, a thing of the past.

The thing is even if you are a really good seller and work hard you can easily be messed up by these strict guidlines.

It's also harder to correct this and make the feedback better when your sales fall as a result of a lower search standing.

I see it like this though, if everyone is restricted by these rules and you're a good seller than I don't think you'll have anything to worry about.

Think about it, all your competition will be forced to play by these rules too. Unless your competition are all perfect sellers and get really lucky by not having any bad customers. Everyone's listings will end up in the back eventually which in turn will mean nothing.

In the long-run everything will get screwed by this policy except for the rare few super sellers. Either they'll have to change the policy again or you won't be losing out on much, because everyone will not be able to meet these requirements anyway.

The only thing that helps is that most buyers dont understand the changes .. i get 1-4 people every week beg me not to leave them neg-fb for paying late...they still dont understand sellers can no longer leave neg-fb ...i had one jackazz cost me $300 in discounts as they knocked me from top rated and took me from 15 % to 5% on discount for the month .all beacuse i overcharged on shipping - so i refunded all the shipping and they still hit me with lows and a neutral .
