Default April 1st - DSR's

Hi

I have posted here recently regarding the fact that my DSR's have been hit lately, and what with the new rules coming into place next month, I decided to create a new Ebay account.

My situation is that my dispatch time is 4.31 or 5.28% (17 1s and 2s), and i have recently had some copyright infringements(whoops!). I didn't know what my seller dashboard was until it was too late unfortunately

Now i'm just wondering whether, come April 1st, I will be fully suspended from Ebay or given some kind of limitation.

If I am likely to be suspended, then I may as well get cracking with 'eBay Stealth' asap.

What do people think?, suspended?

I'm a firm believer that DSR changes are an April Fools joke. I mean, why else would they choose that date?

Well my listings are already way down, I think it's shocking that even if my price is lowest on an item, and someone clicks 'lowest first' i'm still not first!

Ok so will selling limitations cause both of my accounts to go down or am I likely to be ok?

So you will see items fetch lower end prices in auction format?

If I was in this position I would probably bin the account. If you have a new account and you start listing items do you think you will rate higher in best match search as you will have no DSR's to work against you?

Also I would make an extra effort to do all possible to keep DSR's as high as possible.

@Neo, maybe 6 months ago 'binning' the account might be considered. Might be harder to season an account now

Well I wasn't thinking too much about getting highest best match results right now, for now purely just interested in getting my second accound up and running receiving instant payments by April 1st if possible.

You think I should bin my first account now?

I have recently started dropshipping a number of items direct to my customers recently, with quick delivery, so this is good for my DSR's. I will start to include a shipping note with some orders telling them how important it is to get 5 stars rating. Does anyone else do this kind of thing?

I think i have learned that I was too casual with my private Ebay account, so when I changed to a business account the damage had already been done.

@sasasasa, there is a subforum here

http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-feedback/
and an interesting thread for you

I would think carefully about not dropping the account...

Thanks for the useful links. What do you mean by being careful about dropping the account though?

I see what you mean. Its weighing it up against the frustration of potentially being in a position of being lower in "best match" and therfore your auction sales getting lower end prices.

It is best I suppose to just be prepared for the worst come April. Currently I have an account that is showing items lower (I mean not even on page 3 with 30 minutes to go, and some are not showing at all) My only sin is to currently have 2 bad DSRs' on P+P (2.04%)

I have not been resticted from selling, but I think I would probably "bin" the account is restrictions were to be applied.

I am offering FREE postage to try to reverse this trend, but I do keep thinking it may be worth just starting over.

@Neo... if you 'throw' the account you lose everything. But if you repair the DSRs then you have an account with some standing.

Scenario.... I abandon the account. I activate another account, with nothing: than means I can expect a minimum of two months before it's a going concern. If I take the 'sick' account and revamp it...I can expect improvement. I've kept the bank account, the paypal & the phone. The 'sick' account stops costing....a new account costs, imo

Yes I see what your saying and I agree.

I feel you are right up to this stage. But I also think that should restrictions be applied due to the new and exciting "April DSR" changes, then this would be a good time to "bin".

I am trying to think ahead as my account is gleaming, with no violations, all positive feedback (123), but my one downfall is 2 p+p dsrs which see me just sneaking over the 2% threshold.

If they were to impose sanctions because of this, I would have to see just how severe those sanctions are and if they are workable. If they mean an immediate restriction then I would have to consider completely binning the whole lot.

Just trying to think ahead, not happened yet.

But I can see how easily you can fall foul of these requirements. And I try to do everything to get it all right. I mean I put a massive effort in. I should imagine that those who are a bit more lax are going to get their balls put in a vice.

Also the back up of knowing that there are several stealth accounts waiting in the wings makes it easy for me to say I will bin an account.

My ratings are currently as follows:

Item as described 3.00% or (3) 0.00% (0)
Communication 4.00% or (4) 0.71% (1)
Dispatch time 4.00% or (4) 0.71% (1)
Postage and packaging charges 4.00% or (4) 2.14% (3)

Do the allowances go up with the more items that you sell.

Ie currently it says I can have (4) for p+p charges. Will the number in brackets go up with the more items I sell?

Do people honestly use the Best Match search? I have NEVER used it once I always change it to ending soonest. why in the hell do I care about the best matches, they are always the highest priced items I try to find better deals.

ebay will not suspend you,i just spoke with someone at ebay about this, they will not suspend over DSR,they will limit yer selling, what i was told "before you list 20 items per day,if you have a limit, you can only list 10 or 15 until your dsr improved"

i told the lady i dont list 20 items per day, maybe 10 a week, i than asked if the limits will affect my account, she said no,i asked her are you sure, she said it will not affect me at that sales volume

so well see,i doubt there going to suspend people over this,it doesnt make any sense at all to suspend a million users,i have a few 1-2s form idiot buyers for the dumbest things,4 people of over 120 feedback can ruin you, amazing

so this is what i was told, talk to ebay yerself and find out

So am I right in saying the numbers in brackets (DSR allowances) go up the more you sell.

How many sales cause the increments to increase?

Dispatch time 4.00% or (4) 0.71% (1)

Someone else said the number in the bracket was for lower volume sellers

Say they only sold 10 a month, so in 3 months that's 30, if they had 1x 1/2 they'd be over 2%

I guess if it has gone up on yours that could dispute that theory

It stands for "detailed seller ratings" and as far as I'm concerned you only need about 20 of em.
