Default eBay fee question?

I have seen it several times where people recommend paying your eBay fees with a VISA Gift Card vs Paying with paypal.

Can someone explain this to me, why its better.

I mean if your Paypal is linked to your ebay, does it matter how you pay your fees?

This question crops up a lot. Shows thinking outside the square

In this sub-forum there's more threads.(Note a recent thread in late March)
http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-fees/

Here We Go Again gives a great explanation here:
http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ebay-di...do-safely.html

I don't use paypal for fees. It allows me to keep my accounts stealth. There's one less chance for linking. There are users here that go the paypal way. That's not a problem. What matters is how any seller keeps their account 'safe'. Not using paypal for fees is therefore a big bonus for me

^^ True

but if YOU pay YOUR fees with a VCC BEFORE paypal does then theres one less outward transaction from pp. pp dont like money leaving their online accounts.

Personally, I have always paid via Paypal, Stealth or not, but I would like to think I am very lucky and that I don't have high fees to pay. I sell small, so my fees are small.

One thing that I do is, of course, NEVER miss a payment. Secondly, I pay IMMEDATELY the day the invoice is sent to me.

Remember, just because you pay your rent or mortgage on time doesn't mean the land lord won't come knocking on your door by accident.

ANYTHING goes when your stealth! Just play smart and ALWAYS keep that attitude! Once you think your up and selling and ALL is great and seems like nothing can go wrong or get hungry transferring dollars to your bank account, you're Stealth Train WILL run off its track, and your back where you started!

Good Luck!

If you pay with a vcc.... odds are you are paying with real money. I think there is a difference between real money in my wallet, and paypals money still in their hands, honestly. I always pay with paypal as well... because you're just giving their money back to them. It's the best way in the event of a limitation.

Thats also a good point.
You could lose the money [temporarily] which you paid with a VCC incase you get the 180 suspension

For sure. You pay $200 in ebay fees from PP and somehow get limited at least the fees didn't come out of pocket for an account you cant use anymore. Technically its still all your money. But still, it didn't immediately come out of pocket so to speak

I also use paypal to pay all my fees. Most all of my auctions end on Sunday's and most everyone pays me on Sunday's and I pay all my fees EVERY Sunday.

have been doing it on my stealth account for well over a year now with no problems.
rarely even get the monthly email stating I owe $0 in fees because of paying every week for that weeks fees.....

that sounds like a good ideaand yeah why pay eb fees with a vcc/cc etc(your real money) when you can pay with money from your pp account(yours but not yours, yours in a way)
i suppose if it was a big amount of eb fees then it would be a good idea to not use pp and avoid a limitation but overall payin eb fees with pp is cool

you won't ever cause a limitation by send a payment to ebay from paypal... not matter how big! I can't imagine they're even that dumb
