| | | kev59 | 08-17-2010 10:11 PM | Honestly! Who's Better.....EBAY/PAYPAL OR AMAZON??? Honestly....does anyone feel like me that amazon is a little less of a headache then ebay....In my opinion.....Ebay and Nosy Paypal require too much information. They want ssn, vcc,id,invoices, proof of address, and questions like where did you get the items you are selling with limitations on your money. Ebay system sucks! Opinions Please?:ahhhhhh: |
| OfficialGenius | 08-17-2010 10:23 PM | Amazon is more complicated but easier to sell at if you know everything you need to do.
Amazon is also beating eBay by a long shot someway somehow. |
Yes I even love amazon more then ebay this is what's crazy about amazon they quit asking for the "secret" 3 digit ccv on the back of a credit card and sales increased 40% what does that tell you? That Amazon doesn't want your left arm and blood sample to sell. People also like to use a service that isn't all extra nosey. |
| Here We Go Again | 08-17-2010 10:44 PM | I make 20X the money on Amazon than I do on eBay.
Amazon is MUCH harder to crack but once you crack it you got it made.... LOL |
| ghostboy | 08-17-2010 11:18 PM | I switched over to amazon and loved it !!! Dont forget CL. I love that CL. I have found that alot of people are willing to pay with PP and have you ship them you items. I was very surprised . |
| kev59 | 08-18-2010 01:36 AM | Thanks for all the responses. I also would like to add that when you get kicked out of amazon, you always leave with a 90 day CHECK!! EBAY or should i say feebay, leaves you with a bill and a negative balance in your paypal account with no remorse!!!!! Once again Ebay and Paypal SUCKS!!!!! |

I can usually get cars on 5-10 different sites over a couple of days, but for smaller items, ho do you pick which CL sites to list on?
I love Amazon and to this point have not had an issue. What I like is they do not charge up front fees, but they do kill you on FVF. But even after those are taken out I'm still making 25-50% more than the same items on ebay.
Is it new or just me, but now you can ship direct out of Amazon much like paypal, but through Stamps.com? I shipped my first item this week and it sure makes sending the stuff out and confirming shipment a whole lot easier. |
Once thing also is that with Amazon, once you're done, you're done - none of this send is docs for POSSIBILITY of reinstatement. You're out, get over with it, funds in 90 days - and you can reuse accounts which is a good plus. |
| E-Nertia | 08-18-2010 02:07 PM | Yah, I just canceled my Stamps.com subscription, realizing it takes over 200 orders per month to make it worth it now.. Before Stamps.com make shipping on Amazon a lot easier with their batch shipping option! Now it is not needed. |
| ghostboy | 08-19-2010 12:18 PM | pm me dogfaceboy. |
| towergem | 08-20-2010 01:46 AM | I think amazon is better than ebay now
(i am selling silk ties) |
| smithgroup | 08-20-2010 04:12 PM | Computers I mostly sell refurbished computers, it looks like its harder to sell them on Amazon. I WISH I COULD MOVE THEM ON AMAZON, I HATE EBAY! |
| The Don | 08-20-2010 04:15 PM | Amazon is great to sell from. It's simple to set up an account and as long as you're selling HIGH QUALITY products, fast shipping. You don't have to worry about ****. :) |
| forummember | 08-22-2010 04:32 PM | Set up my first Amazon account a few days ago and I'd say it's a lot better than eBay. It'll be interesting to compare my sales within a month. |
| stickmade | 08-22-2010 05:12 PM | I have no experiences in my life with amazon. How are they with vero stuff?
Can an account be built up over a few months with low to medium priced stuff then hit with the higher priced items? All phakes of course.
Is it as easy as ebay ? Or do they clamp down like hell ive no idea how they work
anyway thanks |

anyway thanks | You'll get kicked off pretty quick. They don't mess around like ebay does- giving you warnings and slaps on the wrist. With amazon, you get 1 shot- then you're suspended and can't sell on there anymore with that address, that credit card, that IP address, or that computer. |
| DogFacedBoy | 08-22-2010 05:28 PM | If you do things right and above board (how many of us here are doing that;))
They are very smooth and easy to work with. I like the fact that they do not charge a listing fee, so you are not out anything if your stuff doesn't sell.
If your stuff does sell, they will clobber you on the fees that they charge. But in my case my stuff usually sells for more on Amazon anyway so no big deal. I recently sold an item on Amazon for $120 and my cut was $104. Sold the same item on ebay the same week for $100 and my cut was $90, minus Paypal's fee...so around $86. |
| bmwsouthside | 08-23-2010 08:54 PM | Amazon is much better--its no contest! First of all, you will never have to deal with paypal. Its worth it for that alone.
Amazon money goes directly to your bank account!
YOU CAN TELL PAYPAL TO KISS YOUR A**
And on AMAZON you get buyers who want items right way and they pay more for it! Amazon is kicking ebays A**. |
Hmm My problem with Amazon is waiting on a sale. With eBay you know what you can expect to sell. You see how many people have viewed your listing, you get questions, you can allow people to make you a offer... All these things help you determine how hot your item is, what kind of prices the buyers are looking for, and how many you can sell a day. For the life of me I can't understand why anyone would buy a item priced on Amazon at $200 when the very first link you see comes from a seller who has the same item priced at $150. What are buyers looking for when they choose a seller?
With eBay you can outsell a cheaper seller with ease if your word your auction correctly, and make it look more professional. That way, even if you don't have best supplier you can out do your competition by offering faster/free shipping, or a bonus gift. With Amazon it seems the lowest price wins. I don't think the buyer cares too much about the sellers history. Even if they did, unlike eBay, you can't even see what items the seller got positives for. The seller could have been listing golf balls before they posted that iPad lol... I gotta wonder though. Why wont Amazon create a auction site? That and the original Amazon together would put ebay under the devil! |

I have to turn my listings OFF sometime so that I can catch up and get the ones I have already sold shipped.
I never have to wait for a "sale" on Amazon.
The problem I have is that I sell to much to quickly..... LOL |
| DogFacedBoy | 08-23-2010 11:14 PM | I do wish there was a way to check completed sales on Amazon the way that you can on ebay so that you can determine what items are hot sellers and what are not and what are the ones that make the profits |
| Recherché | 08-23-2010 11:15 PM | Amazon by far in my experience. I'd like to fair better on ebay, but prices are too low. The same items I can sell for $20-100 dollars more on Amazon. For every 100 sales I get on Amazon I may get 5 for ebay. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 10:10 AM. | |
