Too many neutral votes received ...what are the consequences and how to correct it?

Okay, even though I have several eBay accounts with 2000+ feedback, this is an uncharted territory for me and I'm hoping someone knows a bit more about this than I do, as I never had to deal with this and its possible consequences before.

I'm selling a product which changed its design a bit from last year, so I've had some buyers leave neutral feedback saying "the design is not 100% correct" or "it's not perfect" etc.

Now, I don't know what the consequences on eBay are for too many neutral feedbacks. It's not too bad (in my view). One account has 2 neutrals out of 50 positives and the other has 2 neutrals (from the same buyer though) out of 30 positives. There are still about 100 positives on each account pending, but I may also get hit with another 1-2 neutrals.

Unfortunately, stupid buyers are stupid buyers ...but what is eBay's current policy of too many neutral feedbacks? I remember a while ago they counted them as negatives, but then stopped that. My DSR is 4.8+ everywhere, though ..so that's not a problem.

I heard somewhere that performance was checked on seller accounts every 90 days (3 months)? So maybe it's a good idea to sell a lot on these accounts to bring in a lot of positives to make up for the neutrals?

Always a good idea to sell things to keep the positive inputs up.

While neutrals do not detract from your overall percentage, they can cause a bit of issue potentially when account is reviewed every 3 months - shorter for powersellers.

I don't think there is something set in stone for ratio of neutrals to positives but a string of neutrals is bound to look bad on review. To my knowledge, I have not seen any suspensions with your kind of ratio. But if the odd buyer decides to escalate, best to avoid this situation and do as you have said: pump with positives.

The accounts are indeed PowerSellers, so I suspect I'm up for a review in about a month. Do you by chance know if those "reviews" are automated? I suspect so, since I can't think of eBay employees looking at every single PowerSeller account.

All my info points out that reviews are automated - unless you hit your 4 strikes game and are suspended for 30 days.

Another flag that seems to be bouncing around is if your ebay dispute/claim queries total over 99.00 or 2% of sales (along those lines - I can't confirm since.../knock on wood...my account has not had this issue), they analyze with increased attention for powerseller account.

Three month reviews, really? I figured there was at least a 30 day review for new sellers, but I have no solid proof of that. I remember another thread wher Paypal said they do a 35 day review on new accounts. It was an actual PP letter, not just a noob.

When you mean more flexible, does that mean that I can ask eBay to perform a review before the designated review date?

You can't ask for eBay to do a review - well I haven't tried but I wouldn't ask a rep directly. Can't hurt to try but I won't - if it ain't broke, I ain't working on fixing it.

It worked when I asked them to make me a PowerSeller but they refused when I went for the TRS. Now I've got to wait a week.

Try and buy some of them off. Tell them you are sorry they are not happy and you would be willing to refund them 20% as compensation to change feedback. Or something fair depending on the item price.

Yeah, I always communicate with my buyers if there is a problem. There are ways of swaying customers into doing what's best for both of you. I've had a good share of negatives turning into positives after a bit of persuasion.

which they dont understand the difference options of NEUTRAL or POSITIVE.

they just rate happily with their clicks but we ranting with their consequences received....

I've managed to always get every neutral and negative revised so far, I refund the buyer (it's a lost but well worth it to keep the account open in my opinion).
