Once you try to log in they will call you and ask you to answer the security question(s) and maybe other questions. Make sure you got all that info from the seller.
When I bought mine I ( Top Rated sellers account with 1500+ feedback ) changed one thing per week. Addedthe new address as secondary address then made the secondary address primary. NO issues with ebay.

You mean once you try to log in from another PC right? Is it safe to change the password right after the account is bought?
gene, I think it would be safe to change the password and email address right away. Just everything else seems like it would raise a flag. It's a stealth account anyways and you can't change the name so it wouldn't benefit you to change the address unless you have a PO box or something.
the account is for long term sales on ebay, we sell around $40k a month on ebay. our account got suspended because of numerous violations over the past 10yrs on ebay.
I dont want ebay calling and asking for drivers licence information for the ebay account purchased because i wont be able to provide it.
I want to change the address so it can reflect the name i have on my new business paypal account which was opened on my relatives name.
i am using my relatives name and address, so in the future if ebay or paypal calls, i can provide all necessary documents. This is why i am eager to change registered ebay info prior to listing an item.

Yes thats what I meant. The password and email can be changed I ask the person who sold me the account so change the email from their end. All I did was confirm the email so that ebay doesnt get too suspicious that the email is being changed from the different IP and host.
I change my password regularly because im on alot of sites that have major hackers. ( dont ask I do alot of stupid stuff )
If you got the account from someone here, you shouldn't have to change anything, right? I have bought a couple, and they are tailor made to start selling.
The only thing I change is the phone number. Buy a cheap phone because they will call you at some point. I personally would not/have not ever changed anything else.
Lot of mixed opinions on this - go slow and don't jump the gun too fast - I still stay with my recommendation. You probably will get hit with ID verification on first listing.
Good way fo dealing with that is posted in the forum - search
Don't change anything right off the bat, ebay has systems in place to detect hijacked accounts and will ask for verification info and maybe a phone call. Just start slowly like a new account and build your way up. Change the details on the account slowly, one entry a week or so to stay safe.
