BOA called, wants to verify application info

Ok, so I just tried to open 2 more bank accounts (Savings and Checkings) like I always do and BOA called asking to verify some application information. I thinking they are probably wanting to know why I am opening so many accounts.

Anyone ever have their bank call them? I guess to figure out something legit to tell them.

Has not happened to me. I have several checking accounts open at both BofA and Wells Fargo. I opened all of them online, no phone and no visiting the bank. No problems so far.

I have asked employees many times how many checking accounts I am allowed to open and they've all told me as many as I want. Some have told me that there are people with 10+ accounts and as long as there is activity or funds in the accounts they will remain open.
