Buyer Protection cases become part of seller performance standards
Buyer Protection cases become part of seller performance standards this month
Important reminder: As originally announced in our 2010 Summer Seller Update, cases filed by buyers through the eBay and PayPal Buyer Protection programs will be considered along with DSRs in evaluating seller performance, starting with the October seller evaluation cycle.
In September, we announced adjustments to the requirements around cases to protect sellers. Now, any escalated case found in your favor will not count toward your seller performance requirements. For Item Not Received cases, your seller performance requirements will be protected if you upload tracking information to eBay before a case is filed, ideally within 24 hours of the buyer making payment.
Take Action
Review your Seller Dashboard to see if cases are impacting your seller status. Buyer protection case counts can be found on the main page of your dashboard, right below your DSR counts. (Visit the Performance page for more details on your case rates and information about specific cases.) Monitor your dashboard regularly – it’s essential for better understanding your eBay business.
If you’re not doing so already, make sure you’re uploading shipping tracking information to eBay as soon as possible after buyers make payment. This will help protect you against item not received cases and reduces the number of questions you receive from buyers looking for their items.
