Master plan give me advice

Since I know I wont always get lucky like I just did. I wanted to get some more feedback for a future account. This is what I want to do. Let me know what you think:
Week One-Open a new eBay account/paypal
-Turn it into a seller account immediately
-Buy 10-15 items
Week Two-Start Selling REALLY SLOW!
-List something I have laying around the house for like a dollar. Maybe throw up 2-3 listings this week.
Week Three-Buy some more get some more feedback
Week Four-Sell again SLOWLY! Maybe 1 item a day. Still the cheap $1 ones.

Now at the beginning of month two after having say 30 buyer feedback and say 10 seller feedback.
Now would I be able to start actually selling my product? I do sell baby formula. I would like to sell maybe a $300 lot or something!

cardfelon 12-17-2010 09:21 AM

Buyer feedback doesn't really transition into selling at all. While it's great for the buyer to see a higher feedback number Ebay's computers only look at the feedback received as a seller. So you need to obtain the feedback as a seller. The higher number of seller feedback you get before attempting to list large lots of baby formula the better off you are. I would just sell small things from around the house or thrift stores for the first month and try and get 20-25 feedback and also 20 DSR ratings to avoid the Paypal holds.

transitionfighter 12-17-2010 02:52 PM

Yeah but what if I do sell 30 odd things around the house and get 30 seller feedback. Once I do a transition to a lot of forumla, wont i get locked up for that?? As far as the paypal goes, the 21 day hold does not bother me one bit. Just getting the product on eBay is the hard part!

cardfelon 12-17-2010 03:25 PM

I don't think that listing 1 lot of baby formula is going to be a problem. But if you are trying to list multiple large lots right away you will run into issues most likely. If you are trying to move large amounts of product then you will need multiple accounts which I am sure you already know.

transitionfighter 12-17-2010 04:40 PM

Yeah I know. What would you say. Maybe list $500 on one worth of product!! And then $500 on another?

cardfelon 12-17-2010 04:45 PM

If you have 20-25 positive seller feedback then personally I would try it on one account first and see what happens before listing it on the other. Should work though.

holymoly 12-17-2010 05:19 PM

Agreed w/ cardfelon...if you are trying something new...why waste 2 acts when you can try it on one. See it works, then use BOTH.

jbluntz 12-17-2010 05:20 PM

It's not the baby formula that's the problem, it's the brand you use some brands like Similac are sold on sites like alibaba. If you're getting the formula here then try looking for a brand that doesn't show up on a Chinese wholesale site.

⊗⊗⊗⊗ baby formula? If you are really selling something like that then I am sorry but that is just wrong. Think about it. That is a human being. Would you want to put something into your kid that came from China??

I agree!! I was thinking.. what would happen if a child dies because of this garbage? Would they come after the seller?

Well they would go after the manufacturer. Unless they KNOW it's ⊗⊗⊗⊗, then they might go after you...Either way, I wouldn't buy anything that's supposed to go inside of you online. You never know what the guy did to it.

transitionfighter 12-17-2010 10:31 PM

But see I dont buy my formula online. I got business were I live at and dont have to worry about selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ formula! Why would I? I sell formula on craigslist too but the amount I have is way to much for craigslist. So eBay and my permanent buyers that I have are what I pay the bills with. Never any problems accept some dented cans that happened during shipping.

I buy plenty of stuff online that I consume. For instance I buy whey protein, and some supplements you cant get in most stores. Its just cheaper. But I stick to what I know. I dont by junk that I see and think I may want. Just stuff I know.

Thats just scary. I could never do that. And not saying your product is bad, so please do not read that into this... But what mother buys here baby food online from a stranger? Damn.

newtools 12-17-2010 10:59 PM

wow, baby formula, gotta draw the line somewhere unless u are buying from a local dealer in the usa of actual name brand sealed items.

There are tons of ⊗⊗⊗⊗ drugs on the market. There was a huge article in USA Today earlier this week about the US Attorney getting quite a few illegal online pharmacies shut down. So why couldn't there be ⊗⊗⊗⊗ formula?? The people in China will bootleg anything they can make a dime on. That is a fact!

Like I stated in my earlier post I didn't say the OP was selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ formula either

Thats sadly true. People not only get knock offs but full on ⊗⊗⊗⊗. Meaning no medicinal value you all. Or worse, harmful. These are sick people they take advantage of. I hate to say it, but a baby is fair game too

Don't forget just how ugly some people out there can be when it comes to money. Don't assume because you would never do something, that others wouldn't...

lostsub 12-18-2010 12:51 AM

If you read through this thread you will see in real time how rumors are created. A few people jumped right to the conclusion he was selling counterfeit.

pod 12-18-2010 12:54 AM

Actually, if you will read it you will see the opposite. We said they were out there, not that OP was....

This maybe got things going?

jbluntz 12-18-2010 01:17 AM

It was me that got it going, I googled "similac china" and saw some being sold by china suppliers on alibaba. The point was if you're getting the real formula here in the US like transition fighter is you still could have problems selling on ebay if it's a brand thats also being sold in China.
