Question about opening a Suntrust Checking Account Online

I have a Suntrust banking account (checking) and have been with them for about 10years. Never opened an account online though, let alone with Suntrust. I need to open one today to transfer funds from one account to the new account for reasons that have nothing to do with ebay/paypal. Was wondering if it was a process or do they set you up with an account instantaneously that is useable? Thanks!

It was my experience with them that I opened the first account at the branch, then I opened all the rest online. I believe it was 24 hours until it was active. Hope that helps you mate.

You set up a new account online or over the phone, and funds transfers are instantaneous between in bank accounts with suntrust... they're all under the same user profile if all of the same info is used, ssn, dob, etc... I love suntrust, good people.

Well, I hate banks, but suntrust works very, very well.
