Could be very useful, a selling restriction overcome by using eBays own system against it:
Im selling a brand name item, where my items sell daily and making a nice margin off it. So of-course problems from eBay are present. Today I tried to relist one of my items, but eBay stopped me by saying that I can not sell this item for 30 days now for some reason or another. They didnt freeze my account or closed selling all together just limited that specific item.
I thought it was weird so I tried to list a random item just to see if I could, and I could. So the question was how did eBay know which item Im trying to sell and if that item is restricted or not.
The answer from a few tries and errs, was that the listing title made the whole listing be accepted or rejected only if the brand name itself was in the headline. That makes sense but it has one flaw, the brand name Im selling consists of two different words. Separated by a space they identify the brand name but by a '-' character they do not. So you can simply list your item with a hyphen, eBays search results dont differ between space or hyphen, and they do not know that the item is supposed to be limited.
Hope this helps.

if ebay cannot identify it, how do buyers find the item when they search for it?

They can get it in a search if you create your Listing title correctly,,Ebay has been doing this for years with HOT Branded items especially designer Names ,,the problem is this, Your account is now Flagged,,,

And that means that from Time to time an Ebay employee will Drop in to your account to See what you are selling,,,and do Not kid yourself they "Drop By " Quite often,, as soon as the see that Item up for sale, your Done,,It has happened to me many times,,

Well, if what some of you said is correct, and an eBay employee will check the account, this will fail. But the automated system will not identify this, it is a bug that they have and until they fix it its stays.
In any case what, do you propose I should move my sells to another account?

You can do several things Spread the sales over multiple Accounts, or Wait the 30 Days to list the Item again, I will also tell you that as you Accumulate more and More Positive Sales with this Item the limit will be lifted in time.
