Default eBay pretty much told me they could care less

I'll make this short. I sold an iPod, buyer claims they did not receive it. Opened a dispute against me, when tracking clearly shows it was delivered. eBay already refunds the buyer, and I show them the tracking and it shows it was signed and delivered.

Now eBay says I will get a refund, however, my paypal account was limited (no refund going there) and thus triggering my eBay account being suspended.

Now its been 3 months and I did not receive my $400. I called them and was transferred about 8 times, to different departments and "account specialists". They said I can either be refunded to my paypal or given an eBay coupon. Both which are no use because my paypal account is closed/limited and eBay coupon can only be used on my suspended eBay account.

I word by word said, so you are going to keep my money? They replied yes, unless I can do any of the above.

Is this ethical or even right? This sounds to me like stealing. How can a company can't process a single $400 check, when they are a middle men of probably $400 million dollars being exchanged yearly.

Any advice?

I am sorry for your problems.

It does stink, the way they do things. Get you all fired up and hot, lady on the phone trying to sound polite as she deny any help.

Sometimes i wish i lived in CA. I bet eBay as a very good security team at base camp.

Hmmm, seeing you joined the forum right at the time this supposedly happened, why did you not post then and ask for help?

Sorry for $40 I would be screaming for help let alone $400.

Is the account in your real name? There's stuff you might be able to do. No guarantees.

Have you tried contacting Paypal also, sometimes they are easy to talk to a real person.

If you live in an area that has a consumer reporter for your local news station they might help you since they love a good story where the consumer is getting screwed by a big company, you can go to the news station website and email them to ask for help.

When my real account under my real name got suspend last year, the person on the PayPal line told me "We don't want your business anymore". They ran a credit report on me and they decided to close it down.

When I heard those 5 words I could not believe a person said that, esp. a customer service person.

In a Situation like this I would Contact Ebays Legal Dept Directly Explain the Situation and Threaten Lawsuit,,Believe it or Not you you would be Surprised at how Quickly they can cut through all of Ebays call Passing B$llsh!t and get you to the Correct Supervisor who can Solve your Problem, if is as you say it should not be a problem.

ebay could care less about sellers. You have been their victim.

Do as slapped recommends. IF they back you into a corner and are 'heavy', politely end the conversation. They will try bully-boy tactics. Not be caught by them. Then move to Round 2 if you get nowhere

I called to ask for help on something, guy very politely put me on hold for 2 minutes came back and said "I am sorry we haven't been able to figure that out yet but we are going to suspend your account as of right now because we are trying to keep ebay safe is there anything else I can help you with"?
I said of course not, that is why I called is so you could suspend me. Thank you so much. lol
