Activity: 0% Longevity: 76% | | Suggested wait time between opening stealth accounts, and selling?
I sell low-risk items.
Lumber, wood, door trim, baseboard, fireplace mantles, that sort of thing.
Due to eb ay limits, Selling 10 items a month ain't cutting it.....
After I create a stealth account, do you guys think it's ok to list 10 items the same day I create the account (I mean, in the real world, most folks would), or should I wait a few days before posting?
And even then, dare I post 10 items right away?
I read some discussion up here in this regard, but it was for high risk items.

| Well, you will probably get a lot further with low risk than high risk items on e Bay.
It may also depend on the price of these items, whether e Bay goes snooping through your account. But your items really do look low risk :D
See what everyon else thinks...I think you should be fine. I would still say don't chuck them all on eBay within like 5 minutes of opening your account.
Nice and slowly does it...

Worth a test TurtleCove though I would advocate on buying a few things, browsing around before selling - 2-4 weeks.

A lot of people say wait 30 days - this you should do to be extra safe.
However ive found with low risk items you an sell after a week or so as long as you dont go mad and put loads of listings up.
Be sure to buy a few things for around the house also to look like a genuine new ebayer.

I am Mr. Low Risk!
I list straight away and list as much as I can until I hit my 10 or 100 listing limit and never buy anythng coz I am a tight git! - accounts only 2.5 months old.
Most people here say to wait and this and that... these people are experienced so respect to you all but....
.... the way my silly brain is working things is that as far as its concerned, I am real and not a ste alt h person and I act just like one.
I opened my eb ay account to sell stuff and make money - nothing wrong in that - thats what they are there for or they would not let people sell things - eb ay is for everyone to enjoy, buyers and sellers.
No one has bothered me or my 10 accounts (minor stuff).
If you are not Mr. Low Risk like myself then you must take a little more care to stay low key.

| This is true but we know that a lot of people sell high risk/vero items and this can cause trouble if you started listing them straight away.
^ I think it is always best to start with selling low risk items, even if you don't want to and just want to start selling vero, selling low risk items is...low risk Quote:

Depends completely what your selling doesnt it really.
For example if you did that with VERO items you would be shut down in no time.
Another thing is if you've got a bad credit rating for example so find it difficult to open new bank accounts then you should take car of the ones you do have.

have 10-15 accnts doin this once the 30 days are up ur ready to go | The Following User Says Thank You to Gman91189 For This Useful Post: | |

I sell aviation tooling and I listed 30-50 items a week from day one on my new account. I dont think it matters at all in any way if you arent listing risky items.
Yeah ebay called me about once a month for a few months but only asked me if I needed any help and what I plan on selling sales wise monthly. They asked me if I was planning on hitting more than 3k in a 10 day period and I just laughed. They said, its just something they ask. After a couple more BS questions they were pretty cool and just said If I need anything they are a phone call away. It was a stealth account and nothing has come of it in the last years and a half now.
People are a bit scared to list too much but just stay aware from risky items. ipods, name brand bags, etc. You will be fine.

I always start an account by listing a household item or two after a few days.
Then list them hours apart.
After a week then I list more.
I have never waited 30 days myself and so far zero problems at all.

I think it's "past 90" days, not 30.
The next limit is 100 itmes, and $5,000.

The new limit kicks in, 90 days after you've sold your first item.
