Default eBay sellers getting raided

Read some articles online about people selling a couple questionable items and getting raided (not even powersellers). Does this happen often?

Probably doesn't happen that often since I have only heard of it happening to 1 or 2 people selling stolen property.

How about posting some links to what you have recently read?

I've just been searching around the internet; most of the raids came from repeated confiscations leading to searches for replica goods.

From my knowledge, a great deal of dropshipping is for the replica trade; do these sellers get hit?

I've read articles like this too... It's mainly people selling replicas and making well over $100,000/year in profits. Can't be greedy..

No, these were pretty rare. it was just weird, his wife made the purchase, unpaid item case, neutral feedback. I think he just doesnt have the time to give that much of a **** and he's just happy to get his stuff back. He probably charged the renter for the headphones twice what he bought them back for.

I'd be doubtful that someone who isn't making masses in unexplained profit, e.g. driving a Ferrari and claiming the dole, would get raided by the police.

Do NOT Be so Sure,,,,I have seen Very Small Seller get Arrested,,It all Depends,,,say for Example someone who Don't Like you Anymore (Like an Ex,,) Knows you sell Replicas and Reports this,,well the authorities CANNOT Ignore it,,They MUST Investigate, or it will be their Asses,, When they investigate and Find Criminal Activity,,SOMEONE has to get Arrested,,,

That is just 1 Senario,,off the Top of my Head, and it is NOT That far Fetched,,Can you imagine how many more such senarios exist?

The bottom line here is this:

If you sell counterfeits, replicas, China OEM Versions, or whatever you want to call it, you are taking a risk. There is no such thing as a SAFE way to sell such items.

As Slapped pointed out, size does not always matter. If they can prove that you sold even ONE counterfeit item - KNOWINGLY - then there will be consequences.

Yet more reasons to avoid using home address - while I do not condone fraud or illegal activity.

Maybe off topic:

Being the counterfeit items on a popular china website,
why havn't the feds take control of the domain much like they did with
the poker sites.

Many such sites also sell legitimate goods. They receive takedown notices and abide by them. So, like eBay, they will claim that they are doing what they can to stop such activity, but with millions of listings, they cannot catch everything.

Also, the feds might be able to block such sites, but I don't see how they can confiscate something from someone in another country.

The feds go after the little people just like proctor&proctor or what ever the law firm is called.....lol

I have seen a dhgate ads on ixtreme.com and youtube.com for dhgate

They set people up to sell ⊗⊗⊗⊗......

I'll tell why the foreign sites are still up...its because they aren't hosted in the usa so just think about that...
