Default What do you suggest I do

As a new member of this forum, I would really appreciate your advice on how to handle this buyer. About a month ago I sold this Europe Garmin navigation maps. Item was listed as used (which was) and money back was offered for 7 days from the date the item was received. Buyer left positive feedback after receiving the item. Today, I received an email from the buyer asking for a full refund and claiming the item did not work and that the card was a blank card. I know the card worked fine for me in Europe. What do you suggest I do here? As I said buyer has already left positive feedback. I imagine if I refuse to issue a refund, he will open a claim with e bay/pay pal. Do you think e bay/pay pal can decide for the buyer (given that transaction is less than 45 days old). By the way this a relatively new stealth account.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience/opinion with me,

Less than 45 days old, have them return the item to you and you refund them.

BASIC BUSINESS to be honest. If an item has stopped working then the customer can return it for a refund.

And yes they will side with the buyer because it makes a lot of sense.

Refund - take it on the chin - move on
(View it as a business expense - as they say sh*t happens!).

^^^ CORRECT.

1. eBay ALWAYS sides with the buyer.

2. If it's been less than 45 days from the payment date, they can open a dispute. Then you get no card and no money. SO...

3. Have them send it back and refund the $$$, hopefully it still works and they just don't know how to use it. Then you can relist the card.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people will put a perfectly good account at risk for a few bucks. They say it's a matter of principle.

There is a saying that goes ' Principles? The rich don't need them and the poor can't afford them '

It's a business expense - pay it - do what you have to do and move on .
