Why does everyone here get suspended so often =)

Without telling me exactly what you sell, since obviously no one wants to do that..

how come everyone here seems to have accounts suspended on what seems like a weekly basis?

Is it just the nature of the items being sold?

I guess so. I personally have not gone through a lot of accounts at all.
The second account I made middle of last year was the strangest. After my first account got banned, I didn't know any of the regulations about opening a new account. I opened it with the same IP, and used the same paypal account on all the listings. It got suspended when I was up to about 400 feedbacks soley because I had a company remove 6 listings as they were supposedly VERO (which, in fact, they were not.) So even though i was clearly linked to a banned account, it didn't get suspended for anything related to that.

I thnk selling VERO items on new accounts is ususally the buggest killer.

Besides taking the VERO tutorial on e-bay, how do you get a good idea of what is VERO and what is not?

I thought vero was when you sell a generic MP3 player, but you put IPOD, but then....

I read that someone was selling NFL jerseys and they were suspended for VERO. I thought that was the hallmark of Ebay, being able to sell something you may not want anymore, new or used. I don't see how that infringes on the intellectual property of the NFL or whatever especially because they are legitimate jerseys?

At the moment there is litigation with Tiffany v ebay: ebay has become ever
vigilant to prevent itself being sued by Intellectual Property owners. When ebay first started in what we might call the good old times, there were great chances to sell and make money. Greed of some sellers and the increase of ebay's stranglehold has caused change.
It is not primarily what you sell but other factors: one at this point is the fact
that buyers are being given more power than sellers. So if a buyer gets an
attack of the nasties ( for any reason) damage can be done and an account
becomes suspended. eg, one of the forum users posts articles from Japan, his
listings state the time it takes to send out the article but a buyer thought
it should have arrived nearly overnight.
Boils down to a few things, lack of performance in your own account, attempting to make big bucks too quickly, buyers from hell and other factors.
The most pertinent factor is that ebay is controlling what is done and therefore a seller must always be vigilant.

I personally don't go through alot of accounts.

Its based on a few things:

VERO (Which I don't sell)
Money You Make
How Well You Educate Yourself With The Info At Aspkins
Not Learning From Others Mistakes

Like something similar to what I read Modee post, there's a difference between what you WANT to do and what you HAVE to do...to be successful at this..

twdell 03-06-2008 05:43 PM

exactly. there are a few things that i would like to do, because it would save time and make things a little easier on me. those things are also things that could jeopardize my accounts so i do not do them. it's just like in life, there is want and need. "wants" can get you in trouble.

and since finding this foruam a couple of months ago, not one account has been suspended.

GreenBean 03-06-2008 05:49 PM

Right On

:D I can agree there. You have to rethink what you need and what you want.
With the aid of this forum, you find a solution. Cheers, Aspkin.:D
