What are some good excuses to dismiss having 0 feedback? Something that said at the start of the auction would make buyers feel safe.

If I'm selling a more than a number of new items all of the same type I can't say "I got this for Christmas/Birthday"

No, I need better lines.
Maybe "Successful offline retailer for xx years trying out online retailing..."

It would be nice if you shared your one that works.

Modee, I'm curious - generally (and really general is fine) what kind of product do you sell? Is it unique or mass produced? Collectible or industrial? Properties or transportation? Electronic or hand made? Vegetable or mineral? Highly desired everyday use products or rare antiquities? I'm just wondering what people would bid on without much question if you are a new user. Would unique items be a harder sell with low feedback than the everyday?

P.S. PM coming your way.

Although I believe that you should slowly build up. Here is something that might help.

Hello Folks!
We are listing our stuff here because we have finally decided to move in together and need to get rid of some stuff for the move (less for me to carry LOL) and plus we need to get some new things to start our life off.. like a new bed.

Create a story behind it, use the"loving" thing as people like love stories and this way they feel they are helping you out and at the same time getting a item. Do not try and go for high dollar items use medium price items and list them low, you will find that the bidding is good as soon as people find your auctions.

Have a lower start price than others and explain the price is low to get the business up and running-"take advantage of the price while we are new"! I did this for an item usually sold £9.99 BIN , started it at 4.99. Sometimes i'd get 6.99 but other times i'd get £18! Once you have a few sales raise the price. Generally buyers look for bargains and a good camera makes a difference
