imjustme 09-27-2011 11:10 PM

How fast after registering did you start selling? How much buying feedback do you have?

mosguy 09-27-2011 11:43 PM

the speed of registering does not matter, feedback also not a matter

this is the new issue will hit ebay

What makes you think that?

bigboykelly 09-28-2011 12:21 AM

I'm thinking of ringing them soon to get my limit of 100 items a month increased, does anyone know where the call centers are based? Are they UK operators or based in Asia etc. This is an account I have created under my wife's name and her English isn't too good so I would need to speak to them instead of her.

Thanks in advance for any help.

mosguy 09-28-2011 12:26 AM

because i am experience enough to know that

It might be a bug in the system, i have called the helpdesk number and they say
this problem was not handled by them

The account has 0 limit to list items, try many accounts, different kinds of status, but all first time listing, all 0 limit

Yesterday ebay having gallery issue, they are changing something now

imjustme 09-28-2011 01:32 AM

I get the same on my Asia-based accounts, all of those that have never sold anything. Looks like a new verification method. I doubt it's a bug. Did you call them? What did they want to talk about?

Makes you wonder though if this will hurt eBay more than it will help them, because how many people will go through the trouble of calling and verifying their account, just to being able to list 10 items per month?

mosguy 09-28-2011 01:54 AM

I have receive a reply from them and they have enable the account back for me to 10 items only.

In the email, it says

Due to the system need upgrade so there is something wrong with your
account, I am so sorry this bug bring you some troubles。

So the account back to normal now, but other account still having the same issue

all bull****

BiN4RY 09-28-2011 02:13 AM

Things like that happens once every now and then

mosguy 09-28-2011 02:22 AM

what do u mean happen once every now and then

BiN4RY 09-28-2011 02:27 AM

Bugs like that happens every now and then, what do you not understand about it?

mosguy 09-28-2011 02:50 AM

Bug? haha , most experts here think it is NOT A BUG

It is A BUG to the customer service, because they dont even know ebay implement the new policy a few hours ago

Dont u know their management sucks very well

imjustme 09-28-2011 04:08 AM

Where did you contact them at? Live help? Or what email?

mosguy 09-28-2011 04:56 AM

Within Malaysia/Philippines, please write an email to phrswebhelp@ebay.ph with a phone number you can be reached at.

then they called me back

are u facing the same problem with all your new accounts now?

imjustme 09-28-2011 05:27 AM

Yeah, on at least 2 accounts I tested.

When they called you, what kind of questions did they ask you?

mosguy 09-28-2011 05:45 AM

what am i selling , how do i get the item , how many i going to sell..

it is like open up the account for higher limits, same kind

imjustme 09-28-2011 08:28 AM

How do you handle calling them for multiple accounts? Won't they recognize your voice after a few times and know you're the same person? Or do you get a different operator every time?

mosguy 09-28-2011 10:12 PM

different people called me

does anyone else has this problem?

imjustme 09-29-2011 02:54 AM

Yes, it seems to be on all accounts that were created in the past 3 months and that never sold anything. If it's older than 3 months, it's not affected, but accounts created in the past 3 months are all affected.

Since you're in Malaysia, did eBay Malaysia call you and spoke in Malay? Or did they call you from Singapore in English?

hamikangtao 09-29-2011 07:21 AM

Seriously, some of my new accounts that had auctions listed, when i tried to relist it, the same blardy message occured.

New accounts will definitely have this message as well. Tested on all new stealth accounts.

Looks like this is Dooms Day for SEA new sellers / stealth users. ???

anyone knows how to solve this ? i even emailed them my real tel no, but didnt get called by them yet, maybe their inbox is flooded with emails ever since this dumb rule is set.

How bro ?

imjustme 09-29-2011 07:26 AM

It's not the end, you just need to call them every time you create a new account, with a different phone number obviously. Not the end, but more work.

And it's happening on every account that hasn't sold for at least 90 days.

I have tried accounts created more than 3 months also having same problem

They called from China

hamikangtao 09-29-2011 11:15 AM

china ? not philippines ? isnt the email ends with phillipines domain ?

phrswebhelp@ebay.p

How long did they take to call u back ? and what sorta number appeared in your phone ? those with NO CALLER ID number or a local number ?

hamikangtao 09-29-2011 11:17 AM

Seriously i hope this is just temporary , maybe ebay is enforcing this as the year end sale is approaching and they are afraid that asia sellers will bombard with listings. so they are controlling.

If this is permanent, i might have to hang up with 5 years work with ebay since i dont think its worth the effort anymore. crap

mosguy 09-29-2011 11:25 AM

this is what we thought last time at last year too, but we are wrong, this 10 items limit has been a year already, now is 0 item limit..

Created more than 3 months ago yes ...IF you never sold anything. If you sold at least 1 thing and it's older than 3 months, no problem. It's only happening if:

1. You never sold anything.
2. It's less than 3 months since the first sale.

mosguy 09-29-2011 12:15 PM

ya thats why its happening now, soon usa, uk ,au ebay will get this problem..

last year, it also started with Asia first with 10 items limit..

this is ebay best self destruction ways.. good job

hamikangtao 09-29-2011 12:19 PM

So actually, right now, what accounts are off the hook from this stupid restriction :

1) obviously super old accs
2) accounts that sold some items and > 100 days since creation ? ( correct me if im wrong )

How about NEW ACCOUNTS that sold Nothing , created < 100 days or > 100 days ? No chance to list anything except having to email them to call us to verify ?

imjustme 09-29-2011 12:25 PM

Yep, that's what it looks like. For me, I sent them an email on one account with a phone number over 24 hours ago and told them to call me today and they didn't. So it seems like they're flooded probably with people asking them to call and can't handle it.

Another stupid idea by eBay. I don't think many new sellers are happy when they're told that they need to wait 2-3 days for eBay to call them just to list 10 items a month.

hamikangtao 09-29-2011 12:33 PM

Lets just pray they realised this is a stupid idea and cancel this restriction, i wonder how on earth can they call every seller one by one just to ask what they are selling . what if im just selling my used panties , should i tell them that even ? ebay is pretty stupid nowadays.

and this is not helping their cause of making money, i hope they will fall one day, and some other auction sites take over them as market leader

imjustme 09-29-2011 04:47 PM

It could be that they're doing it only because of the Christmas season. To prevent Asian sellers from opening 100 accounts and selling 10 items on each without shipping it and then running away with the money. Could be temporary, could be permanent, nobody knows.

I remember before Christmas 2010 around the same time of the year they forced Asian sellers to verify the phone number before listing. After Christmas, they softened it and you could sell after either verifying the phone number or the "secret answer" you created during the sign-up.

So again, nobody knows until January/February 2011.

mosguy 09-29-2011 10:10 PM

well, i think they just trying to be smart ass. And they will implement to all the ebay sites and in the end, they suffer big losses

but they dont care now, they have paypal making so much money now

and paypal can overtake ebay revenue soon

imjustme 09-30-2011 01:01 AM

I think the fact that new sellers see that even after they write to eBay and talk with eBay about what they're selling, they can still only sell 10 items, will hurt eBay a lot. Not many people will even bother calling if they can only sell 10 items every month for the next 3 months.

And on top of that, even after writing eBay your phone number, they don't call you for 2-3 days.

hamikangtao 09-30-2011 02:54 AM

I just got a reply from DEEPAK, our SEA trust and safety dcikhead. Instead of them calling me to verify what i'm selling, he is asking to fax in all my documentations and invoices to uplift the restriction of selling.

This is just great, they dont even bother calling anymore, they will just ask everyone to fax in all their documents and they will just review it. Anyone got the same reply , or u guys actually received some calls from ebay ? please share

hamikangtao 09-30-2011 02:56 AM

This might be the END for stealth users, maybe ebay ppl reads this forum =*(

imjustme 09-30-2011 03:08 AM

Did you give them a phone number to call you at? if so, why did mosguy get a call and you not?

mosguy 09-30-2011 03:22 AM

Maybe depends on what you wrote on the email first , so they called me

hamikangtao 09-30-2011 03:39 AM
