Brand New Seller Has HIGH Selling Limits...HOW?

I was researching some eBay sellers and came upon cbnailstore428. He signed up in March 1, 2011 and sold over $15,000 worth of items and over 400 total items from the dates of March 1 to March 30, 2011.

HOW DID HE PULL THIS OFF?!? I thought most accounts without a good selling history (especially new accounts) have pretty low limits of under $5,000?!?

If your wondering, I got those numbers from Terapeek.

accutinting 12-25-2011 11:27 PM

Yeah for most accounts the first 90 days are not the busiest. But they really are not selling that much. Your failing to look at this the proper way. Do the break down of it and it comes to about 1,500 a month and 40 items a month. So this may seem alot to you but for many of us this is just a normal account

seanws30 12-25-2011 11:56 PM

i had one new account that had no limits. ive sold almost 15k since nov 15.

accutinting 12-26-2011 12:18 AM

New selling account no limits..man your lucky most I been getting is 100items 5k on my new sellers

seanws30 12-26-2011 12:30 AM

be happy youre not getting 10/1000 like most

accutinting 12-26-2011 12:39 AM

Very true.... actually most of my sellers started with 10/1000, but I got to the point where my sales are spread so far on stealths that it doesnt have much impact with my starting limit. So I guess our answer here is that the initial question can be very easily done. But did you have any calls or issues from eb/pp from jumping up to 15k in under 2months or just a smooth ride

seanws30 12-26-2011 12:49 AM

ebay no. paypal on the other hand has been a thorn in my side

froyofan 12-26-2011 04:41 AM

It's possible that they already have an establiahed ebay and just liked the new one to it. It gets rid of selling limits

TowelKing 12-26-2011 04:52 AM

It's actually some bug with ebay, I already created 3 accounts that don't have any selling restrictions.. I am too scared to use them :/

That makes complete sense. This is probably the reason.

I am thinking that registering as a LLC and showing eBay documents and TIN would help in getting higher limits as long as good account standing accompanies it.

Does linking my account to an established seller account lifts all selling limits or just raises them?

Ebay defines an established seller account as an account which is: 1. over 3 months. 2. Has a DSR of 4.8. 3. Doesn't have any unresolved issues.

troyzz 01-02-2012 07:14 PM

I link the new account to the same paypal and ebay account then I call support to remove any limits on the new account. Its a good way to sell a new profitable product without your competitors terapeaking you.

He either made the seller account before the selling limit system was introduced, or got lucky and created a limitless selling account by chance.

Pringles 01-03-2012 12:38 AM

it seems all of my new account have 100/15k limits

rsot 01-03-2012 12:26 PM

@Towelking, limits don't come into the place until your first sale - or first dsr - something like that. Anyone confirm?

Not really luck, you have to know the system in November 2011 to December 2011 I have sold $105,000 in that month with no problems, of course limitation, but send them what they need and all is good, btw at that time account was 3 months old with 500 Feedback and no limits ;)

accutinting 01-05-2012 11:15 PM

Sell4more2 if you sold $105,000 worth in about 1 month on a 3 month old account and no limits then I need to step up my game..lol. Good to see that hussle

So how many accounts do you have that are new and have or had no limits and if this is the case are you selling that kind on all of those accounts?

I would guess the percentage of new accounts without limits is very low, probably 10% at best so luck has to be involved.

You mentioned the account was 3 months old at the time, which is it? Because 3 months old with 500 fb has no limits anyway. 90 days and 25 fb the limits are usually lifted by then.

105,000 withdraw on a 3 month old account. Care to share your withdraw secrets because that is a chunk of cash to get out even if you know the "system".

I have a "real" account and get nailed and questioned for withdrawing 500 a pop after a few days. And you were able to get 105,000 out of this account then?

I created a new account. I had limits, 10/1000 but had access to my paypal funds right away. Another account however, has my paypal funds held for 21 days. Then all of a sudden, on my 3rd month of selling with my first account, the paypal transaction from my latest sale is being held for 21 days. Whats up???

newjerseymax 01-06-2012 12:03 PM

Depends on what you sell. I also had 21 day hold. However prove yourself.
After 3 months you will get this email. (actual copy/paste email)

Hello xxxxxxxxx,

We're writing to let you know that starting today, funds from payments you receive will no longer be placed in a pending balance due to payment holds.

What about money that’s still on hold?
You'll be able to withdraw money that's currently in a pending balance due to payment holds within 21 days of payment (as long as there's no dispute, chargeback, claim, return or reversal).

The money currently set aside may be available even sooner if we can confirm the item was delivered or you received positive feedback on eBay.

Will my payments be held in the future?
We may continue to evaluate your account to determine if it's necessary to hold payments again. If we determine that it's necessary, we'll email you. Funds from eBay sales may continue to be delayed based on selling history and performance.

For more information and tips on what you can do to avoid having future payments placed in a pending balance, please see our Frequently Asked Questions.

Happens all the time.

I have had several lifted after 25 fb and 90 days to get them held again a few weeks later only to be lifted.

I think they are sending a message letting us know they are watching new accounts closely.

I find it very hard to believe that anyone can run 105k through and account that is only 3 months old.

I may be wrong but I would love to see the proof of this because if this is in fact true, then a ton of us are missing something very important.
