Actually, iOffer is starting to get some traffic. Before the list went down, I saw ioffer as number 2 with 20% increase of listings. Also, via alexa.com, iOffer's rank and traffic is skyrocketing, although I know alexa isn't always accurate.

ioffer.com - Traffic Details from Alexa

My personal sales are better than I expected although not ebay like sales. I'd say about 20% of what I sell on ebay.

Jonas 05-21-2008 09:32 PM

Does anyone here really have the alexa toolbar?

ebid.net,ecrater.com = no sales. I've not tried ioffer because it takes 40 hours to get all my items listed up.

I've used craigslist just to sell stuff around my home I don't need. The only people who are actually interested are scammers. I don't know how it is people are able to produce ⊗⊗⊗⊗ money orders so cheaply -- on ebay they can't, but on craigslist they can.

Ballsack 05-22-2008 12:06 AM

I think you're only really supposed to use ecrater as a storefront unless you plan on dumping all your inventory on that site, then you'll begin to see sales. You won't get anything putting up a few items at a time. Plus you still have to promote your store like crazy. Maybe you could create accounts on ebay solely for advertising.

2eXclusiive 05-22-2008 03:49 AM

ive never seen a forged MONEY ORDER
HOW DOES THAT WORK?

GreenBean 05-22-2008 04:01 AM

These types of MO are usually drawn on an overseas bank (like the Bank of Nigeria or other foreign banks) and are given in exchange for goods.
Problem is that it 'seems' real. Recipient puts it into their bank account.... exchanges the
goods. Then after some time, the bank can advise that customer that the MO is not genuine. The bank may then pursue that customer for any paid out funds.
Anyone who needs to accept a MO should always ensure that is from your own country.

2eXclusiive 05-22-2008 04:08 AM

oh wow
did not know that

why cant you just go to a western union?
they'll cash it for you on the spot.

GreenBean 05-22-2008 04:45 AM

Ah, but here's the catch. Even if you go to Western Union or any other check cashing service, that MO will still be 'run' thro' their systems. Usually it will not work for them....you have to remember that ebay ain't the only company with 'bots' to determine problems.

2eXclusiive 05-22-2008 05:10 AM

oh wow
its amazing what you can counterfeit these days
as we speak scammers are counterfeiting 100 dollar bills and finding ways to make them more flawless.

kevinxu 05-22-2008 12:18 PM

about ioffer, any good way to make more ppl to watch your items?

2eXclusiive 05-22-2008 01:46 PM

you can advertise your own items. ioffer gives you a banner made just for your listings so you can advertise their website along with your items.

411guru 05-22-2008 05:09 PM

You also can upload your listing to google base. Ioffer even makes a file for you to upload. Then your item will be in google search results. I personally have not tried it cuz I'm a noob to this stuff.

On another note, I sold a program for $19.95 yesterday, and the final value fee was $1.25! Higher then ebay I think. Then paypal was $1.08 so I profit $17.00!. iOffer should be charging less considering they don't have the traffic of ebay. Oh well, at least there weren't listing fees.

2eXclusiive 05-22-2008 08:56 PM

but its ok since ioffer is not as strict as ebay.

kevinxu 05-23-2008 04:13 AM

besides uploading your listing to google base, are there some tips to make more ioffer register user to watch your items?

2eXclusiive 05-23-2008 05:05 AM

you can try advertising on blogs, craigslist ....
things like that
but it may not be worth it
it all depends on how much your item costs
if it costs one dollar its not worth it.

Ballsack 05-23-2008 10:35 AM

Because ioffer is not a store and competition on the site is insane I would not recommend advertising your your listing on ioffer. You're going to end up forcing ppl to sign up and learn the site before they even purchase your item. Better to open your own store or use ecrater and direct ppl there. This way they can just click on your item, add it directly to a shopping cart and pay thru google checkout.

2eXclusiive 05-23-2008 01:50 PM

i agree 100% with BALLSACK

John14789 06-11-2008 05:26 PM

craigslist is a awesome website to sell stuff at. its local and most stuff sells within 3 days on it. some items take forever to sell though. but it depends if you live in a big city or not for the sales to come quick.

mtime88 06-19-2008 11:42 AM

link isnt working

2eXclusiive 06-19-2008 03:06 PM

topazcorp 06-24-2008 01:09 AM

I'm selling half my stuff on craiglist, kijiji. I'm living in a major city though... No listing fee and you can be paid cash!
