Raise selling limits by calling?

My account limits do not go up automatically each month... what do ebay ask when I call to raise selling limits (to non-us members)?

Anyone knows?

Anyone ever tried calling to raise limits when you a TRS account?

NoneOther 03-14-2012 06:52 AM

They want to know why you want your limits raised and will ask about your business, suppliers etc.

You runs the risk of having limits decreased or the account being closed if they don't like what you tell them or you give any wrong info.

My advice, leave well alone and be patient. Let it grow organically.

If you need to sell more open more accounts.

Make other stealth accounts in the meantime.

TowelKing 03-14-2012 12:40 PM

But the problem is it does not grow organically - 4.9 DSR, been a member for 3 months - limits never get raised automatically.

I actually feel some and I do say some sense of security with my 10 item limits. I have 5 stealth accounts so that's 50 items a month which I barely even get too. So far on all 5 accounts they have had no problems. As some of the old skool people here would say, "best to stay under the radar".

hackteck 03-14-2012 12:57 PM

i had an account like that perfect feedback 5.0 DSR and the limit would never raise one day i just decided to bite the bullet and call they raised it automatically

MM78 03-14-2012 01:06 PM

It is a risky proposition but If you have some good dsr's and you feel good about the account I don't see why it's not possible to raise the selling limits.

It has more to do with what you sell, how much and how often and the risk that e/b may perceive with those items in conjunction with your DSR's

There is no specific time limit anymore.

Why the rush? Open more accounts if you need to sell more.

I always wonder if people have trouble selling items on new accounts all the time. Maybe having a reputation doesn't matter on Ebay anymore?

Raising a limit

I called them a week ago and they asked me to send a fax with photo ID and utility bill. I sent them and still waiting for an answer. They act like they never received my docs. But I am sure they have been sent. I will wait till tomorrow and call again. Will keep you posted.
Does anybody knows if the selling limit will increase automatically if I have never call? I am selling already 4 month with 100% positive feedback and fully 11 DRS.
I thought they will raise it after the third month but they didn`t.

rsot 03-15-2012 12:40 PM

You may have to resend and call right away to follow-up. Selling limit can increase auto after 3 months on eb but nothing is 100%.

hackteck 03-15-2012 04:52 PM

I sell phones so this one account of the many I've been using only let me list 1 phone a Month so I called and got all the questions wrong twice then he said holding then came back on and said I will up your limit in that category to 5 a month lol

From my experience, for non-us or Canada members selling limits do not go up automatically. You have to call every month for limits to be raised..

Sandy D 03-20-2012 01:25 AM

I wont call unless I have to.

Wrong. I recently had limits raised from 5 to at least 1000 (haven't tried more quantity) after only 2 months and only 2 positive feedbacks received. Another account had limits raised as well after exactly 3 months. If every seller had to call to raise their limits from 5 or 10 up then it would be impossible for eBay to handle all those phone calls, since they tend to speak 15 minutes on average.

rsot 03-20-2012 11:28 AM

Even Canada is not always AUTOMATIC - I have had a few accounts that would not be getting higher limits automatically.

nebuspp 03-20-2012 01:14 PM

My account is not automatic. I call every month for them to increase. They ask me the same questions. What's your business plan? What do you sell? Are you comfortable with your current limits? Where do you get your products from?

Then they praise me on how good I am doing and put me on hold while they see what the "system" increases my limits to. Then they come back with the numbers and ask me if its okay. I normally say I would like a bigger increase but of course they can't change it. Its pretty generic.

My account MAY very well be automatic, but I get impatience bc as soon as the 30 day mark rolls around, I call them to get an increase so I can start selling more.

Here is a tip though. For the biggest increases, use up BOTH your item AND dollar limit to the max.

bansheezone 03-20-2012 06:28 PM

agreed, you have to make sure you sell beyond your limits, just have to time it right also. Buyer feedback counts towards the account so buy alot of cheap items.

Dead on correct.

Hi

from looking at other members' experience of actually contacting Ebay and speaking to them is a no no - they may do more check on your account and could get it linked to another . I have just found out by chance that i was close to the selling limit of 100 but my limit has now increased . I was notified of this increase in the limit by Ebay , and this was 5 months exactly after creating this new Ebay account

wilburnet 03-21-2012 08:31 AM

Reply to Veli - if you wait your time they should increase your limit after the 4th of 5th month . To check if they have raised your limit you can also do this

if your limit is 100 items - once you get to about 70 items sold , do 3 listings of quantity 11 each , if it lets you put these on without any warning then your limit has increased

good luck
