| | | | | mjs777uk | 04-04-2012 01:01 PM | Reported to EBay & Paypal by seller.... Hi everyone,
So I have been using my stealth account now for 3 months I just got through my 90 day hold period with Paypal & all is going well.
Near perfect feedback 100% DSR 5.0, 5.0. 4.9 & 5.0.
I have been buying & selling with no issues at all.
Earlier today I bid & won an auction for a $1 the seller was clearly not happy with the finishing price.
Anyway I paid for my item through Paypal & I asked it be shipped to my real address & not my stealth address, like I always do.
The seller sent me an EBay message back saying he was refunding me & reporting me to both EBay & Paypal for fraud! because I had asked to have the item shipped to a different address than the one listed on my Paypal & EBay.
At the moment I have about 2k in my Paypal account & now I'm panicking thinking shall I withdraw it to my bank account quickly before Paypal possibly step in & freeze the account because of this seller reporting me.
Any suggestions? I really can't afford to lose the money in my Paypal account.
Thanks in advance! |

| NoneOther | 04-04-2012 01:12 PM | He's within his rights not to ship to an address that is not specified with the p/p payment and to request cancellation of the sale. |

But I won't mind if the item is only for $1. I think he is doing that because he was pissed with the sale being so low. |
| mjs777uk | 04-04-2012 01:30 PM | I paid him for the item, then he refunded me & reported me.
I know hes within his rights not to ship to a different address & I accept that.
I think in this case he was just annoyed with the finishing price.
That said, do you think EBay or Paypal will investigate it at all?
Thanks |
| Sneakee | 04-04-2012 01:31 PM | Is he in Canada? I would give him a ring and try to tell him that you are a real person and give a believable reason why you wanted it sent to another address. |
| mjs777uk | 04-04-2012 01:40 PM | Yeah he is, but hes already reported me... He reported me like instantly, didn't even give me a chance to explain.
He was like I'm refunding your payment & I've reported you to Ebay & Paypal for fraud & that was it!
I asked him if he really reported me & he didn't reply... On his refund note on Paypal he also put reported to Ebay & Paypal for fraud...
Over a $1 item... Unreal!
I'm just debating sending all my Paypal money to a trusted friend instead of withdrawing it & them reversing the withdrawl if the guy did report me which I'm fairly confident he did & if Ebay Paypal decide to investigate....' |
| yotano211 | 04-04-2012 01:43 PM | I buy things and have them sent to different address all the time. Now if you said something about that not being your "real address" then that might be harmful. But I don't think ebay or paypal will do jack about it. And he has the right to cancel the transaction if it's shipped to another location. Paypal's buyer "protection" might not cover him is something goes wrong.
But having that much money in your paypal account is never good. I always try not to ave over 500, the max being 1k in paypal at any time. |
| mjs777uk | 04-04-2012 01:47 PM | Nah didn't say anything like that, just said I need the item posting directly to one one of my customers address'es like I always do.
And yeah I buy a lot of items off EBay for clients locally so I leave the money in there to order things for customers.
Time will tell I suppose, I think I'll just transfer a grand to my trusted friend & see what happens.
Hopefully they won't do anything.
Thanks! |
| yotano211 | 04-04-2012 01:48 PM | Do you sell and buy on that account? |
| mjs777uk | 04-04-2012 01:50 PM | Yes I do buy & sell on the account |
| mjs777uk | 04-04-2012 01:52 PM | And yeah seriously... I sure know how to pick them!
He's probably been scammed before & that's why he did what he did, but a $1 item... Like give me a break...
ridiculous! |

ridiculous! | For a $1 item I won't bother with it and would just send to the address buyer requests me too. I can understand if the item is expensive but for a $1...
Email him up man. Tell him if he doesn't want to send then no worries he can send it to the paypal address. |
| yotano211 | 04-04-2012 02:08 PM | That is why I have a seperate buyers account from all my stealth accounts. I only buy things with account only. But still for a 1 dollar item. But who cares, if the guy doesn't want to sell it to you, just move on. I would not leave any negative feedback or any feedback. Just move on and find the item with another seller. |
| mjs777uk | 04-04-2012 02:08 PM | Yeah I know same here....
So now I'm in 2 minds... Send money to a friend, withdraw or leave it there...
I don't know if EBay/Paypal have the man power to investigate every little thing, but as many know Paypal don't need much of an excuse to freeze your money! |
| WasTopRatedThenBanned | 04-04-2012 02:19 PM | Question:
Did you state via eBay messages: "This is my Stealth Address"?
If you did, and he reported you, i think you are screwed. |
| yotano211 | 04-04-2012 02:40 PM | I would not worry about it if you only asked if the item can be shipped to another location. If your that worried, I would start withdrawing the funds now. That is a lot to have in paypal. |
Only time will tell - lot of folx just talk the talk but are about nothing. Be patient and report back if any news - hope it works out. |
| mjs777uk | 04-04-2012 05:37 PM | Well I'm a bit less worried than I was earlier, went out for a bit, take my mind off it. I sent a good chunk of my Paypal money to my friend just incase.
Time will tell, what happens.
I got 3 good feedback today for other items I had purchased so that will look good if they check it out.
I'll let you know what happens if anything!
Thanks everyone! |
| newjerseymax | 04-04-2012 10:45 PM | A lot of folx will tell you its never good to buy on stealth unless feedback is needed. |
| KingRay | 04-04-2012 10:47 PM | I had this happen recently on an $8 item. The lady didnt want to send it to any address other than the one on paypal for the delivery protection.
All I said was "tell you what, I will go ahead and post feedback saying I received it and its great so you dont have to worry about any kind of not received claims, etc". She felt better and just sent it to where I wanted. Not sure if it will work on everything but small items that mean nothing, why not.?
In the past before I settled into a perfect address scenario I just put in a neighbors address across the street and a couple doors down. The mail man delivered it to me since it had my name on it but the address what circled with a "?" next to it. lol.. As long as your carrier knows who you are and the pkg is addressed on your route, he/she will figure it out. They know who lives where on their routes. They just think its some moron writing the wrong house # on it.
I wouldnt make a habit of it but it does work perfectly. |
| AmazonStealth | 04-04-2012 10:56 PM | I do not understand why people dont get an ACTUAL PHYSICAL address even when you are on stealth. There are several options that are very affordable and you have zero worries with buy/selling/returns/exchanges. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 02:10 PM. | |
