Default ebay chat Identity verification - on newer accounts

Ok, ebay doesn't let me to list new items on new acc before they "verify my identity".
They suggested 2 options - 1) get paypal verified and link to ebay or
2) chat with ebay verification line

Is this something new?
So I selected 2). When chatting they only asked for my name and address (⊗⊗⊗⊗ of course) and then said "We were unable to verify you", please do paypal verified.
What did they want from me???

It matched almost ( ~20 miles from there ). And I use dial-up through cell phone so I don't think they could notice 20 miles difference.
Did anybody else chat with them?

I was going to post about this myself, funny...
Just yesterday they limited me from listing and said I had to verify, same thing. So obviously I opted to go with the ebay verification over doing Paypal..
So I started chatting and the rep said he would call me from the number on my account. So obviously the number I registered with was bogus so I told him to call me on my cell because I was at work and that number was my home number.
OK, gets worse..
So he calls the registered number anyway and says that it's a business answering machine; so I say yes I know, that's my home business, call me on my cell.
So the guy does, I answer and he says, "ready to answer a few questions" and I say sure... First thing he asks me, "what's your date of birth", right away I knew I was screwed because I never bother writing that down, only basic stuff that I need for reference, so I said, oh no, this is all under my wife's info, so then he asked for my wifes' date of birth, I of course still could not remember what date I put down when I registered, so I just randomly said 69', he then said "ok, let's go back to live chat" I said ok. Then he said that they were sorry the couldn't verify me and that I would have to get verified through Paypal.
Oh well, I still have 8 items up, what do I care. I just use gaybay for advertisement at this point anyway for my website. They screwed themselves as usual.

That's why I always write down everything when creating a new account. Date of birth, address, name, secret questions & answers, everything

Maybe creating newer accounts ...and after the limitation abandon ship...and just call it a day, and start fresh. being as feedback is not a real factor.

If your accounts are registered outside the US it is more likely down to how the accounts were created.

That makes sense. If you sign up overseas obviously they are going to have to verify it. If you sign up in the US and immediately start selling iPhones they are going to do it too. I would start slow. I always start out selling like 3 DVD's at once. Let them sell, get the feedback, then list a couple more. Then once I get 20 or 30 positive feedback I will list a bigger item. I also only do it when the 21 day hold has been lifted. Which from what I have seen is around 20+ positive feedbacks with perfect seller ratings. I could be wrong though .

Heres a question about the paypal verification. What does that mean? I normally always have my paypal accounts verified. I confirm the bank account and credit card so I am verified. Will that keep me from getting popped for an identity check on ebay? or is the verification you are talking about completely different?
