| | | yogarelax | 05-22-2008 09:08 AM | ok, I agree, only works on sellers... thus I will wreack havoc on sellers who sell any items I sell. I belive it will be benefical to me if the buyers remain. the nice ones. |
| Lisa B | 05-22-2008 09:11 AM | Now you're scaring me Yoga. lol lol lol |
| divine422 | 05-22-2008 09:24 AM | I dont get the point in what most people are saying here. Randomly leaving negative feedback on sellers just to "spike" ebay is probably the dumbest thing i have heard. How does this effect ebay? They dont care in the first place. The only person this would effect are sellers like yourself getting screwed by other sellers and ebay when they are just trying to make an honest living. I say continue business as usual and deal with those kinds of buyers when the times comes (read the ebook if you dont know how) and be more vigilant with who bids on your auctions, especially high priced ones. |
| Jonas | 05-22-2008 12:46 PM | eBay is trying to get rid of small sellers and keep large ones. |
| Lisa B | 05-22-2008 01:03 PM | Divine - most of us are only kidding on this post, at least I hope. |
| 2eXclusiive | 05-22-2008 01:45 PM | divine - were only kidding, we were joking around because ebay is stupid. |
| imjustme | 05-22-2008 02:05 PM | You mean I negged 43 sellers today for nothing? Oh maaaaaaan....... |
| 2eXclusiive | 05-22-2008 02:06 PM | lol
wayyy to goo IJM |
| jscan | 05-22-2008 08:07 PM | lol divine, cool down, were joking around. |
| divine422 | 05-22-2008 09:19 PM | Im sure some of YOU might not, but alot of people read these forums and you think at least one person wouldnt be stupid enough to try that? Right. Im talking to that person. |
| jscan | 05-22-2008 10:21 PM | calm down........... |
| divine422 | 05-22-2008 10:22 PM | Im calm seriously, im just saying. |
| imjustme | 05-22-2008 10:44 PM | You're not calm, you're shaking. I can feel it. Oh no, wait...it's the usual morning earthquake in Tokyo. |
| jscan | 05-23-2008 01:27 AM | yeah like back when they had that massive one is Kobe |
| 2eXclusiive | 05-23-2008 05:09 AM | i read in the newspapers that the death toll of the earthquake that occured over in asia just hit 51,000 people, thats crazy. |
| imjustme | 05-23-2008 06:38 AM | Yep and about 2 million homeless :( |
| Sammi007 | 05-23-2008 07:07 AM | This new policy really sucks! I just refunded some guy $200 because I didn't want a negative feedback.....and after I refunded him he gave me 2 Negatives for the items he bought.....
I couldn't give him a negative, but I still got him hard....
I opened 2 unpaid item disputes saying that he did not pay and chose 'other' for the reason. I knew he would respond....
He then responded saying that he paid....blah, blah.....I then ended the communication and hit him with 2 unpaid item strikes!
Is this our new way to get back at buyers? |
| ebayhateluv | 05-23-2008 08:10 AM | HI:
Ive tried the UPI with a Strike, but then check in your dispute console- and click on the dispute a week later--they remove the strike,, all the buyer has to do is send an email, strike gets removed,,its happened on 4 diff buyers in past month--even 1 in italy--strike disappears |
| yogarelax | 05-23-2008 08:23 AM | Divine:
nJust joking {I think}, mainly because I am too busy running my ebay accounts & articulating "vengeful" thoughts on this thread. AND I am probably waaaay too old to be acting this way!!! hummmmmmmm, but I am . I guess I have a problem |
| 2eXclusiive | 05-23-2008 01:52 PM | ah man
there is no way around this one
ebay has out done them selves
we have to be at the buyers mercy? |

Are you in Tokyo ? |
| Jonas | 05-24-2008 01:41 AM | Refunding buyers out of fear of bad feedback is giving into terrorism. You give into a terrorist threat so they don't kill hostages and they kill the hostages anyway. Same with feedback.
I'm sure somewhere online there's a more elegant way of describing it. |
| mantisinc | 05-24-2008 03:36 AM | Yea but Jonas, feedback dents your business. It's probably worth refunding for the sake of future sales. |
| jscan | 05-24-2008 05:38 AM | Especially now when your more likely then ever to get a neg. |
| twdell | 05-24-2008 09:01 AM | and negs lead to suspensions. buyers know they've got you. |
| 2eXclusiive | 05-24-2008 09:49 AM | wht can we do?
nothing
we have no say in ebay's decision unless we do something really huge that changes things, but the chances of that are slim to none.
so we just have to live with it, more of a reason on not to depend on ebay with your income. |
| Sammi007 | 06-21-2008 09:06 PM | Sopranos Meets eBay in Feedback Extortion Scheme Hay Guys,
I just read a very interesting article about a new Sopranos Meets eBay in Feedback Extortion Scheme......
Apparently, this e-mail is starting to circulate eBay.....
Please Read: Listen very carefully. I am the winner of this item. I have 4 other eBay Users in place either bidding on or have won items from you plus myself totaling 5.
We are prepared to leave you 5 Positive Feedbacks or 5 Negative Feedbacks depending on your actions. In a nutshell, we are in the business of selling Positive Feedbacks to eBay Sellers for $20 each, totaling $100 for 5 Positive Feedbacks.
If you purchase the 5 Positive Feedbacks for $100, you not only get to sell your items, you also receive 5 Positive Feedbacks. As you well know, Feedback is EVERYTHING to an eBay seller on whether they are successful or not.
I’m sure that you want to remain successful in your eBay business. Plus, along with the 5 Positive Feedbacks, we will also Guarantee Never to contact you again and we take you off of our list. You’ll even get a receipt for your purchase.
Now, here’s the important part.
If you refuse to purchase the 5 Positive Feedbacks, we will leave you 5 Negative Feedbacks for starters. We have 100’s & 100’s of eBay Users in place that we can use to leave feedbacks. In fact, we have enough to consistently leave you Negative Feedbacks for months resulting in you having to shut down your business.
The absolute worst thing that you can do at this point is to try and contact eBay at any time about this or refuse to cooperate; we Will start leaving you Negative Feedbacks and shut your business down.
Make no mistake, we’ve been doing this for years and have the power & resources to continually leave you Negative Feedbacks resulting in the closing of your business.
Think about this, if you try to report us to eBay and they try and suspend our account or something like that, it will not stop us whatsoever. Remember, I said we have 100’s if not 1,000’s of eBay Users in place that we can use to leave you Negative Feedbacks over & over again until you are forced to shut your business down that you worked so hard to build up.
Even if eBay were to keep suspending our user accounts, we have plenty more that we can use to keep leaving you Negative Feedbacks and there’s No way that eBay can keep up and stop us. They have tried & failed miserably. They also know about what we do. So the best and smartest thing that you can do is protect your business and just purchase the 5 Positive Feedbacks from us. That way, it’s done and over with and you can successfully continue to run your business without ever hearing from us again.
We will give you up to 72 hours from now, to reply. The sooner, the better of course. Just send us an email stating that you want to purchase the 5 Positive Feedbacks from us and let us know your main email that you use so we can contact you.
If we don’t hear from you by the end of the 72 hours, we will assume that you are refusing to cooperate and we will start leaving you Negative Feedbacks. So don’t do anything stupid. The smartest thing that you can do is take this seriously, we know what we’re doing. After we hear your reply to this email, we will contact you with further instructions. |
| yogarelax | 06-21-2008 10:02 PM | Send this to the FBI, Local police, CIA, anyone or perhaps Fox news... Gerlado. |
| pauluss | 06-22-2008 11:30 AM | at last a growth area for eBayers ! and not having to pay eBay for the pleasure |
| tvaughan08 | 06-22-2008 11:45 AM | ebay sucks. |
| 2eXclusiive | 06-22-2008 11:54 AM | every move ebay makes,
the sellers get hurt
no one else. |
| aspkin | 06-23-2008 02:20 AM | Geez.. Look what eBay started... Lol |
| mjstallion | 06-23-2008 02:26 AM | This should be cross-posted in the PSU and eBay forums where they laud over how great eBay's new feedback policy is. |
| f1br3opt1c | 06-25-2008 03:39 AM | Feedback extortion Victim :( I've just started on a new account. Sold two items to this guy jaypatel25. First he never replied my messages and at last i got a reply saying he has never been on that account for years and maybe it was his friend who used his account to bid. Sensing pure bull****, i filed unpaid dispute and got back my money. I thought ebay was smart to not let people leave feedback if the item was not paid for.
But i was wronG!!!! Today i wake up and my feedback is -1 :( I see that he has done it with few other buyers too. I have contacted ebay, is there a chance they will see the item was not paid for and feedback was left and remove it? |
| fflier | 06-25-2008 07:25 AM | If you followed thru and gave them an unpaid item strike for each item, yes ebay should remove the negative feedback they left for you |
| f1br3opt1c | 06-25-2008 08:36 AM | Already gave the unpaid strike for both of the items he bought and also also got back my money. Will it help if the dispute is already closed? |
| imjustme | 06-25-2008 10:12 AM | They won't remove your negative feedback if he has responded to the dispute. |
| imjustme | 08-04-2008 01:57 PM | A few weeks ago I had someone buy 2 items worth each about $50. I started the auctions for $0.99 and $19.99 shipping each (little bit more than the actual shipping price, but not a lot). He actually got angry because I wouldn't combine both of them into 1 shipment and that he had to pay the $19.99 twice. |
| SaiJin | 08-04-2008 02:46 PM | hi, when I still had my 8 year old powerseller account, I forwarded a similar
email with headers to T&S .. . 3 times... the response i got is that the buyer wasn't extorting me and that he is entitled to his opinion.
but it doesn't matter anymore... I lost everything I worked for 2 weeks ago for "abusing ebay". Quote:

I told her to just ship everything back to me and I will refund in full and reimburse her for her postage. Ingrate.
Unluckily for her she outlined the whole tit for tat to me in an EBAY message and has already been reported to EBAY for feedback extortion. Let the chips fall where they may! | | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 10:49 AM. | |
