200+ watchers but technically it wasn't mine , it was a mulberry handbag that my mother was selling on EB , her listing was that poor I removed it and did a full new listing for her , so over a 10 day listing she ended up with over 200 watchers I think about 600-700 page views and she got £294 for the bag that she paid £20 for from a charity shop the previous year

And before you ask it wasn't snide :nono:

I'm a bit confused - I always thought it was a torch relay, as they call it. A relay means you cover a leg and then pass the 'baton' to the next person who will do the next leg... you can see running relays in 60+ days on TV. This means that there is only one baton used; in the case of olympics, one torch.
So it seems that this is not the case.
I don't know how there are doing it but it seems they are just having 8000 people from all over UK running the different legs at different times, with no passing of the torch?
So they each get their own torch??

Anyway, I wonder what happened to that listing... why did the seller end it?
Was it sold?
I'm really curious about what happened to it.

Oh, I found another listing for the Olympic Torch... ends in 20+ mins from now and bidding is at £153, 800.
Damn... I just need to sell one of these in every 4 years... lol!
Is there a way to be a professional torch bearer for every olympics? LOL!
OMG 8000 youths are going to become very rich overnight this year!

Maybe those 50p Olympic coins and commemorative Coke bottles are a good idea to import to sell in Singapore... hehe.

The Olympic Torch sold for £153,100 in the end.

And look at the morons bidding up to £100,000 for a PHOTO of the Olympic Torch here 190681453008.
Now that's the price to pay for not reading listings!
I'm sure the winning bidder will open an IND case when he gets his photo though, if he even pays at the end.

When I think about it, it really blows my mind.
The seller wrote the listing title as "London 2012 Olympic Torch".
However, in the very first line of his description, he wrote, "This is a picture of the Olympic Torch for London 2012."
It blows my mind that someone would make a £100,000 bid without even bothering to read the description at all!
Not even one line of it!
I know they are not paying £100,000 for a photo of the torch because the other photos go for below £100... that's a huge difference!
This is a proven beyond reasonable doubt case that they did not read the description at all!
Many buyers just read the title and bid.
This is proven now.

So for those of you who complain that buyers do not read your description, well, your item is too cheap for them to bother.
Unless there is a chance you are selling something over £100,000??
:surrender:

People are very passionate about their Olympic Torch pictures. Maybe they think if they wish hard enough the Torch in the picture will come true.

REPLICA CENTRAL

London 2012 Olympic Torch | eBay

13000 page views!

How do you see the page views?

Interesting... but not surprising.
The Chinese makes anything that makes money... and fast!
But one thing I'm kinda disappointed with this replica is that it is non-lightable.
It is purely aesthetic. Non-functional.
Disappointed.
I'm sure som factories will make lightable ones.
Sure it will definitely cost more... but could sell for more too.

Personally, I see no point in buying a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ that can't light.
If it can light, I wouldn't mind getting it if I have too much cash to burn.
It is a very nice design afterall and I could use it as garden lighting.
Makes a nice talking point for BBQs in the garden. :p

Hmmm.... but I wonder how long this seller will last....
But maybe they will let the seller sell it.
Afterall, this is non-Vero (I don't think the Olympics committee has a vero team watching out on eBay; they would be up to their neck with work soon).
And it is bringing in lots of money for eBay!

I wonder if most buyers are from UK or is there a substantial overseas market.

I have been up to 100 watchers mark only up to date and that is on a GTC listing until my stocks ran out!
