Question on return policy...

I sold a laptop on ebay. It was brand new. I clearly stated in my return policy 30days return only if it is defective and I will issue a complete refund. The buyer received it, and said that she didnt like it and wanted to return it.

I said sure no problem and explained that since its opened now I would need to sell it as used and ill except the return minus a 50$ return fee. This was all in ebays messaging system. Now she is requesting the 50$ saying she never seen that part and didnt agree to it after she returned it.

My question is what happens in this case? I clearly stated no returns in the return policy unless it was defective. Does ebay frown against this type of thing?

I would not expect ebay to care a hoot about your return policy. :pout:

Sellers can clearly define return policies. Such policies can be blatantly obvious in the listing. Buyers will plead ignorance ( as you stated). ebay will hold their hand.

You would have to hope for the best (& expect the worst) :juggle:

I'd eat it and move on.... not the first time you're going to get burned over chump change. Don't make it worse. At least ask her to leave you a positive feedback.

I am 50/50. Just getting ideas if she decides to open a case with ebay.

She probably will and eB will side with her. Best to deal with this without claims.
