Lightbulb eBay selling limit was raised again.

Hi everyone!

My eBay selling limit was raised from $6,100 to $13,500 or 150 items. Should I be worried and be happy? Does it mean I can sell a bit more than last month and I wont get my PayPal limited or should I keep selling as much as I sold last month ?

These threads remind me of the older threads about accepting power seller status

I'd have to say there are good and bad things to having a huge selling limit. I'd go with focusing on making backup accounts so you don't get too upset when this one gets shut down. All ebay accounts eventually get shut down. This is just how it goes. Why would a really successful sellers account get shut down? The really really successful seller will make their own site!

Its hard to say. I was raised to that exact limit and I maxed it out within 2 weeks and they doubled it within the same month... It all really still comes down to what you sell, your dsr/feedback, cases, shipping time is a biggie and of course it must be a business account at this point.

It's personal account. I never had business account and I have no idea how to create one. It seems a bit risky to to me to have business account. I am not worried about eBay as much as I m worried about Paypal limiting me because I sold too much ... I would rather stay under radar but who knows really what amount will trigger limitation. I am able to sell for 13k a month on one account but I know that as soon as I try they will limit me.

If you "know" that you will be limited, don't do it - quite simple.

Did you request or did it just go up on its own?

Wow I have never seen a limit so high on a personal account... However mine are US accounts and recently I was asked for EIN after one month of selling...

I guess a EIN request is better then docs...

Limits like that are not that uncommon, they go Higher, Much Higher, I really Believe that it depends a LOT on your average Sale Price, Higher ticket items most likely get a Faster Dollar Amount Increase, as opposed to a Big increase item number amount, and Vice Versa

Taking risks is a good thing, but taking risks with money can turn ugly. That is a big increase though.

That's what I am wondering about. How can you have one month $6100 and next it goes automatically to $13,500. I am not complaining, bring it on. But I am just wondering how eBay selling limit system works.

I agree with you about the average ticket item. I sell mine at around 110 - 120$ a piece.

Sales price, Quantity sold, feedback, DSRs all play into how they determine what to do with your selling limits. The better you standing with eBay the higher your selling limits will be.
