"Feature Unavailable" error after changing address
Hi,
I have a 12 year old ebay acct with a 100% positive feedback rating. I'm a US citizen living in Japan. I registered in the US about 12 years ago, and have been living and selling from Japan for 10 years.
I started selling heavier items (in the video games category) and noticed my max shipping was capped at $15, but my real shipping cost from Japan was $70, so I called ebay and asked them what was up. They said change your registered address from US to Japan. The support girl on the phone changed it for me.
The next day I tried to list something and got an error message page: Feature Unavailable. I can' list new items or edit existing. That was about two weeks ago.
I've spent at least 6 hours on the phone with cust. support to no avail. At one point, some ignorant cust. supp. person said, "Have you tried using Internet Explorer". At this point I started laughing.
Questions:
Has anyone seen this "Feature Unavailable" issue? Ebay claims it is a bug on their end, but I somehow don't believe it. They say wait a few weeks and try again.
Last night one support "manager" person said it would be worth trying to create a new account. She said I could use the same paypal acct. I just bought the Stealth Book and it mentions two accounts. But this worries me. I don't want to screw up my paypal acct. also.
Any advice here greatly appreciated. I've got a ton of inventory to sell.
Thanks,
