| torontomapleleafs | 08-22-2012 05:12 AM | Countries Not to Ship to: THE LIST I think it would be a good idea to put together a list of countries NOT to ship to on ebay. This way we can all block these countries from bidding on our auctions.
So far I have been scammed (or just lost packages) multiple times from:
Russia
Brazil
Ukraine
Nigeria
Would be nice to have a big list.
Let me know who else?
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
jamcocktail21 | 08-22-2012 07:46 AM | China :clap::clap::clap: |
Big list for this? Kind of logical - I have shipped all over the world - I tend to place judgement on the individual. Maybe you did not research enough on the individual to place faith. |
ZoonVoo | 08-22-2012 08:17 AM | It is not a good idea at all, first you can judge on a country because you got scammed from an individual or 2, but even so, they can use VPN and avoid restrection |
yotano211 | 08-22-2012 08:22 AM | Italy is my number one not to ship.
But each person has their own preference on shipping to what countries. It also depends on the item you are selling.
I have shipped to Brazil and ever had any problems. But I only ship there on rare occasions when they pay for Express mail only where it can be tracked. |
unkown5454 | 08-22-2012 02:15 PM | Brazil is far superior to those other countries. I am surprised you have had major issues there? |
jamblix | 08-22-2012 04:22 PM | On the flip side I haven't had a single problem shipping to Japan. |

Every time I list a SSD drive, about 1/4 of the buyers are Japanese. |
Elijah | 08-22-2012 07:08 PM | I have had many pleasant transactions with Italians, contrary to many others' experiences. I do feel very sorry for the legitimate Nigerians though... the few scammers have sullied the reputation of an entire nation, and it is virtually impossible to do online business from there. I remember there being a lady on here who wanted to start up an online business like the rest of us, but had to move first as her location (Nigeria) would prove to be a significant hindrance. |
BigCJ | 08-22-2012 07:11 PM | only country I do not ship to is nigeria. Other than that, I have not had any negative experience with the others on the list. |
AmazonStealth | 08-22-2012 07:56 PM | I dont ship outside out USA. Guess how many issues I have had in 14+ years.....ZERO |
LoopHole | 08-22-2012 08:54 PM | Whats the problem with shipping outside of the US?????
In my opinion its not the country its the individual. Do some research on him then decide if you want to take the risk or not. |
I don't ship outside the US....well because no one from outside the US buys from me,:pound: |
SaiJin | 08-22-2012 09:42 PM | Add Indonesia... one of the most dishonest and corrupt places on earth. |
hashbrown | 08-22-2012 10:11 PM | i will send anywhere but i can track almost all my items so i dont really worry about getting diddled with items not recieved claims |
Javelin | 08-22-2012 10:26 PM | For me, I'd ship within the US, UK and Austrailia only. On occasion to Malaysia and some parts of Asia, Oceania, and Europe.
Africa, Italy, South America and worst of all..... Antarctica is a Big No No for me. |
I did once get a purchase from the following person:
Santa Claus
N. P. S. C.
P.O. Box 56099
North Pole, Alaska 99705-1099
Seemed fishy, didn't ship! |
Javelin | 08-22-2012 10:54 PM | Lol. I did not know Santa lived in Alaska!
I always thought he lived in the very distant North Pole! |

I have to admit I always exclude Africa and Asia, but that is mostly based on things I have HEARD rather than on things I have EXPERIENCED. Maybe I should rethink this... |

Santa Claus was getting something for the Easter Bunny to deliver.
Big disappointment
:pound: |
BUNNIES!
True point also to evaluate based on what you are selling. |

Seemed fishy, didn't ship! | What a coincidence, I just printed a shipping label to someone in North Pole, Alaska. Too funny. |

In my opinion its not the country its the individual. Do some research on him then decide if you want to take the risk or not. | I am not saying shipping outside is a bad idea. Its the fact the further it travels, the more hands that touch the package, the more shipping companies that get involved and the high chance of lost packages, damaged packages and complaints about shipping time. |
slim jim | 08-23-2012 04:14 PM | i sold something (~$850) to a soldier in iraq and it got there (with a little delay) but it got there |
mutaaly | 08-23-2012 04:58 PM | add Israel . Israel buyers most of scams .
Brazil, Russia is not big problem , but you should ship only single item .not more |
FizzyFish | 08-23-2012 06:09 PM | Add the UK to the list - never ship there.
That is the place where I have had the most problems. You definitely can't trust those English. Thieves and scammers the lot of 'em  |
unkown5454 | 08-23-2012 08:14 PM | CA, UK, AUS and USA...all cons. |

yotano211 | 08-23-2012 10:51 PM | Never ship to Cuba, those Cubans steal anything.
Add the US to the (do not ship list). Those American are the worst scammers.
:bounce: |
Mr. Invisible | 08-24-2012 09:09 AM | I only ship with expensive tracked delivery outside US, so I will ship almost anywhere. |
GrannyT | 08-24-2012 09:16 AM | I don't know why you are all moaning - it is very very simple to avoid being scammed. The secret is . . . . . .
Don't sell anything  |
newjerseymax | 08-26-2012 03:36 PM | No doubt in my experience my US buyers are the biggest complainers and whiners, yet still best buyers.... Rarely have issues with Canadian buyers... Blocked Africa and Asia... |
By the end of this little exercise, you'll all end up shipping no where because each & everyone one of you will have a good/bad stories or experiences for each & every other eBay operating listed country out here.
Good & bad folks exist across all corners of the earth where eBay exists in those places...due diligence & prudence usually reduces your risks of a deal going bad.
:juggle: |
newjerseymax | 08-26-2012 05:19 PM | Nah still wont ship to Nigeria...lol |
slim jim | 08-27-2012 04:54 PM | guys stop this is going nowhere. i think elijah has been called out and put to the test |
newjerseymax | 08-27-2012 05:59 PM | Getting my popcorn before thread is closed. :pop2: |
accessgreatproducts | 08-27-2012 06:02 PM | Shipping to other country is a big risk most time if you do not provide tracking. All the buyer have to do is open a case saying they did not received there item and your screwed since ebay, Paypal favors the ways of buyers. |

I shall check for you. You made two posts on Nigeria in this thread.
One exists.
The 2nd was discussed and deleted for reasons which were explained.
