I started a couple of old seller accounts back up again, one is 5+ years old and the other is 3 years old. I listed cellphones in each account, but it would only allow me to sell 1 (per account) before being asked to verify info. I wasn't able to create a BIN auction for a cellphone either, but it does still let me list in other categories.

This is the message I got:

Quote:
To complete your listing, please confirm your personal information (note that the service to confirm your information is not located on an eBay website). Sellers who are listing for the first time in a specific category are limited in the amount that they can sell to help ensure that buyers get the best service possible. If you successfully confirm your personal information, we’ll increase your selling limits in this category and send a confirmation email to your My Messages inbox.

You may still be able to list other types of items in other categories, and your limits may increase after 90 days when you've established a reputation as a successful seller.

Learn more about limits on eBay sellers and how you can request an increase in your selling limits.

the solution is to take it very slow and try to start account selling things that are not seen as suspicious. use the search feature in the forum and you will find an amazing amount of info to help you out

Got same message today on brand new account after listing second item. I listed older generation video games. Is this normal for all new sellers? They said one of this category per month. Or can verify to increase.

They gave a list of items that r limited. It seemed like they put these limits on all new sellers. Not sure as this is first stealth account. Items were cell phone, tablets, computers, video games, game consoles. Etc...
