How do I improve DSR Stars?
 

I have been expereinecing a lot of buyers leave low stars on purpose or something.. My shipping charges are dry reasonable but they still leave 1 and 2's.. I have now been listing with free shipping to improve my stars greatly? By sept 20th or I am going below standard from top rated which is not fair at all... Let me know if this is a good plan and any other tips. Thank you.

Are your 1's and 2's only in shipping? How many do you have because you are limited to a certain #? If so sell some cheap items (lose money if you have to) and offer free shipping like you said and you should be ok depending on the amount of 1's and 2's you have

I have 5 low dsr ratiings of 1 and 2's.. It's on red saying at risk.. If people leave feedback with the 5 stars now much will it affect me? Also I reported a buyer that left a positive but put low ratings of 1 or 2 in all... It's really annoying
How I'm following the rules and this happens.

the % will go down but your max # limit will not change and this will be a problem. i am really not too sure how this can be fixed but i would definitely suggest starting some new stealth accounts should anything happen.

Your either selling crappy products, not shipping fast enough or any of the many reasons your getting low DSR's. Think of any possible reason and fix it.

Yeah they really need to fix that shipping DSR both time and cost options. Some sellers get tons of orders per day and buyers expect same or next-day shipping which is sometimes nearly impossible if you are working solo. So what happens is your shipping time DSRs get low. Then if you charge the exact amount of how much it cost to ship an item people are still not satisfied with shipping charges. So, instead of giving 3 or 4 stars they leave 1 star unaware of how much this actually effects the sellers.

The whole DSR system is flawed imo, they expect near perfection and they don't understand that even if you are doing things exactly right there are buyers who are ignorant at how their ratings effect the sellers and we get punished unfairly. Anyways I did what you guys did too to get my shipping cost DSRs up, just provide free shipping and put the shipping cost into the Buy it Now cost. Then again...this option won't work for sellers who use the auction format...

How come you allowed 5 such ratings?

What was the point of reporting a buyer? Do you like complicating your life?

What do you mean shaky grounds? I just did what I felt was right and it is..Also yes I am using auction format with free shipping.. How many 5 stars for shipping would I need to get my top rated for next month again.. I'm at 2.52% need 0.60%

eBay rewards automatic 5 stars for the 'Shipping Cost' DSR if you offer it for free...Don't they?

So aside from that....If you're getting low stars for Shipping Time then what service are you shipping with?

I used to sell hats on eBay and I'd ship worldwide. I'd ship with Canada Post AIR Small Packets. Which doesn't even have tracking. Yet I got a lot of "Fast shipping!" in my feedback scores from people who were in USA, UK, & even AUS. My DSRs were near perfect too.

If you're shipping with Canada Post, NEVER use 'Surface' Small Packets. It can 25-30 days to reach. Always use AIR Small packets. There's not a big difference in price.

So...what service exactly are you using to ship?

Sell them for $1 with free postage

Make sure you send them out the same day as they buy.

For not a lot of money you have your DSRs repaired

yes they do in the UK anyway, your buyer cant mark anything for this if its free its always 5*

why dont you pre pack some of the items? as another mentioned if your selling a few of the same item, just pre pack .

Also on the account i think you can add a ''handling time'' just set to 1/2days.

Yes I do ship everything either with tracking via PayPal shipping or air mail small packet. Never used surface. And I still don't know why I get low stars.. I ship 1-2 business after payment cleared I say in listing. Either competator or stupid people abusing the eBay system for sellers....

Customers have different expectations now a days. If you cannot meet them then you are in a bad place and should maybe look for something else.

That's odd..I'd ship using Expedited within Canada - and Air Small Packet to everywhere else. I have lots of feedback saying "quick shipping" and my stars are near perfect. I'd often be 2-3 days late on shipping some stuff out too. I made it clear in my ad that it would take 4-10 business days to reach them. Do you mention the shipping time super clear in the ad? :S

Just buy some car charger's or some sort. Offer free shipping & ship fast. You should get all 5 stars on all rating's depending on how accurate your description of your listing. In all category rating's you should receive 5 star's in all way's. I believe the amount of transaction as well affect's it to go down. Even though your making about $100 bucks out of 100 pieces you sold it should at least get your 1's & 2's to go down & even become a top rated/power seller if maintained

No I don't put how long it will take in my listings.. But I do ship expedited to Canada and expidited parcel USA and rest air mail.. There's a short time to improve it.. I don't want to fall to below standered again for the 2nd time.. All my listings end Sunday.. Also eBay says the estimated arrival on the top don't they?

Ok but I mean in your seller dashboard? I'm in red for shipping charges of % of 2.60 I need it to go down to 0.60 how many 5 stars needed? so I can be top rated by sept 20th.

Impossible to give the answer based on the information you have provided.

How many low DSRs are making up the 2.6%? There is a number in brackets beside the percentage.

I can tell you right now, your chance of getting TSR in 10 days is nil.

Ok it says 2.60 (6)?? At the top it says low ratings of 1 and 2s? But how many ratings do I need to get to atleast to 2.40?

You've got 6 low ratings out of 230 transactions. (2.6%)

To get your % down to 1.00%, you'd need to get your transactions to 600, so that would be another 370 sales.

The above assumes you get no more low DSRs out of the 370. It may not be quite as many as some of the low DSRs counting against you may drop off over the time period.

To get to 2.4% you need to get to 250 transactions, so that's another 20.

Yes I have good DSR but shipping and handling dsr are killing me.. I'm doing free shipping now..

For you to go from top rated, and drop to below standard in 1 month is extreme.
You need to look and see what you have done differently this month, to let it get this bad?
Personally i would have started worrying when the account dropped to standard, and not wait for it to reach this and then expect a quick fix.

I also do not believe that all your buyers were malicious and have rated you 1 and 2 without a proper reason or cause.

Have you sold less this month, than all previous months?
What is your shipping fee that you were charging buyers?

OP did little to nothing about paying attention to the multiple responses in the thread. Only mention of free-shipping happening & nothing else. Suspect this might be too little too late :pout:

My shipping I see in my dashboard says 4.79 and in red 2.60% [6] I charge 6.00 for shipping for 8x10 photos with tracking.. I see this as a fair price as I do PayPal shipping. Also I would like to change my account to a business account but it asks for a business #? How would I do that? Never used a business # on my banned account..

just because it sounds fair to you does not matter. you are not thinking of your customer. i am sure it costs less than $6 to send it anyway. increase the price of your item a little, offer free shipping and you will probably get more sales

Well here is the thing, If you as you listing as you State here, and assuming you are providing a Tracking Number within 24 HRS of Payment, then 2 of the 4 DSR's are automatically a 5 (Shipping Time and Cost) So that leaves Communication and Description,,

So what is the Mystery??? Your Solution is SIMPLE, answer Questions Quickly (Within 24 HRS)(Somehow, I feel that the Communication DSR is NOT your Problem) AND give an HONEST and COMPLETE Description of what you are listing,,,

Now, Just because in your Mind you do NOT actually Lie on your listings,,ABSOLUTLY does NOT Mean that your listings are HONEST,,an Example would be,,

If you have an article for sale, and your listing does NOT mention the color, now, it is fairly common knowledge that the VAST Majority of what you are selling is normaly seen in RED, and that RED is VASTLY Prefered to ANY other Color.

The one you are selling Actually Blue,,,that is a DISHONEST Listing, which Leads to an Unhappy Buyer, which leads to a Low DSR for Description,,,

I recommend buying cheap items from Chinese sellers that can be resold for a slightly higher price, and then buy a large quantity that will allow you to negotiate a discount. Such as someone said before, buying 500 eyeliners, but this time ask to buy 500 for a 12% discount. Ask them to send you an invoice to the e-mail address attached to your paypal account so they don't have to pay fee's. Most will do it. Then resell all of these for no actual profit, even if you lose some money think of it as an investment towards creating more positive feedback.

In regards to selling eyeliner, sell it as a quantity of 1, but actually send them 2 if it is affordable and you aren't losing too much money. Most buyers will be happy that you've sent them two.

Most importantly, do this as FREE SHIPPING. If you can, provide a tracking number within hours of the purchase and make sure you send it out as soon as possible.

I had to contact my local USPS to figure out how I can ship things faster through them, they said if I drove closer to a hub which is about 30 minutes from where I live, then the items could potentially be received a day sooner. So, luckily a post office located near the hub was on my way to work and sure enough, people would get my packages sooner.

With this, I was able to secure better DSR's. Now 80% of my inventory on eBay is stuff just like this for the purpose of keeping my TRS status and shielding me from negs and low DSR's.

Ok thanks for the info. I will try that. Also another question.. I used my scanner but I also used it on a banned account.. Am I safe if I used photo privacy to clean them. Then upload them to eBay? Also I use png is that ok?
