Exclamation MC999 Selling limits have changed on your eBay account

LOL! Awesome! So yesterday one of my eBay accounts was restricted indefinitely on selling. So I bought an eBay account and changed name and address to closely match the one that just got hit with the indefinite selling limitation. I decided to start selling on my new account that was attached to the same Paypal account that my other eBay account got indefinite selling limitation. Everything was okay but then today I got this message:

MC999 Selling limits have changed on your eBay account

Dear XXX (XXX@XXX.com)

Based on your account information and activity, it looks like user ID XXXX is associated with your account. This usually indicates that both accounts belong to the same person.

Because the other account is restricted or otherwise not meeting minimum seller standards, we've changed the amount you can list on eBay.

You can now sell up to 10 items or up to $1,000.00 per month, whichever comes first. After 90 days, we'll reassess your account and may increase your limits based on your selling performance. You can also increase your limits sooner by resolving any open issues with the associated account. We've already sent instructions for resolving these issues to the email address registered to that account.

If you currently have more items (active items for sale and sold items) this month than your limits allow, you should reduce the number of listings you have on the site. Any listings that place you over your current limits may be automatically removed.

So basically they DID NOT ban my new eBay account from selling, they only reduced it from 100 items or 5000 $ to 10 items or 1000$. This is definitely interesting!

I got this last time after listing a ton of items (I tried to do the 100 items that I list every day on it) on a new account, fresh out of the gate... only the "associated account" wasn't even mentioned; they just said "it looks like account is associated..."

LOL! No need to get upset! You know it is ALL automated! Even the email you get! This is why no one cares! It's BOTS who catch you and it is BOTs who send you the email! Welcome to the 21st century!

I know WHY both of my accounts were linked! Because even thought I added new email to my Paypal account that was associated with the first one that got the indefinite selling limit I still used the same password when I logged in to my Paypal. I am pretty sure this is how they got me. If your new eBay account is open and you enter the same password into your Paypal as when you entered when you logged into your previous limited account the bots will catch you. They are using cookies to associate. It's tricky!

it's the bank account on the paypal that linked eBay to the new account, i know, i've reused bank accounts before and i had the same email and low and behold, that other ebay account's paypal bank was the same one on this new accounts paypal. since then i've stopped reusing banks, unless i can get it to verify it as a savings account instead, which does work... my pro free tip of the day.

You cannot attach the same bank account to two pp accounts. You get an error message.
