Faxing information to ebay
 

I got asked to fax in information to verify my address and name etc.
I do not want to send in credit card info (been hacked before).

Im hoping a receipt and government id is ok.

They linked me to an account that had a similar address/name.


Has anyone have experience in faxing materials to them?

If you want to disprove that link, you are going to need to be proactive to make that happen.

There's a good chance they will think you are hiding something.... are you :spy:

What happened that you need to do this?

I listed alot of auctions and a buyer wanted to buy 2 of my listings but wanted a bin so he would be covered so after i made the bin i get a message saying unusual activity and i need to contact them.

I called them today and they said fax an id and credit card statement to verify my address. They said also some invoices from the items that were listed but I don't have any of those.

I plan on faxing the info tomorrow, is there a good chance I will be reinstated?

Well today I faxed in a cover letter with my username and full name along with an explanation of why I cannot send invoices, front & back scans of my id and credit card statement.

How long does it typically take to hear back from ebay and has anyone have success getting the account back after this?

I sent in my info id and cc statement now its just sit and wait. Anyone have any results?

The results will take time and nobody knows the end result. If you dont hear anything from them for some days, then it's time to call them.

results can take from several hours to weeks.....

Each account has different timing.

Yes, sellers have had success after submitting documents.

I must stress each case is different.

Faxing works fine. After faxing, wait 5-7 days before calling up

i recently had to do this after selling a gift card to plasticjungle they paypal me some money and to paypal somehow this looks suspicious so they restrict my account i got the account back with a little creativity

well I got an email saying my account was restricted.


I called and they linked me to another account, got to talk to another person then their supervisor.

long story short I got reinstated with some high limits.

If you are faxing anything other than a drivers license to prove identity you are fighting a losing cause. If you are asked to send anything to PayPal consider it completely gone.

@bowlfan12 - just 1 question: where they right to link you to the other account? Was it yours?

it was my son's account.

his was suspended from selling indefinately because buyers were ticked off after his shipping prices (why they still bidded on the items , i have no clue).

Its now used for buying only though
