Can't cancel transaction after unpaid item case has been opened? Crap :(
 

I had a buyer buy a $1200 item and didn't pay for it for nearly 2 weeks. I opened an unpaid item dispute, after which he paid for it but just prior to me shipping it, he said that he didn't want it anymore and that he would prefer a refund. Obviously, I had to refund him, as otherwise he may have done a dispute or a negative feedback. I then wanted to cancel the transaction and noticed that you can't cancel a transaction anymore once an unpaid item case had been opened previously.

Now I'm out of $150 in eBay fees :rant:

Contact eBay using Live Chat, they might be able to help you out.

imjustme, this exact situation happened to me about 1.5 years ago - I wanted to cancel after the guy reneged, I could not find the button so I contacted eb via live chat - in my case, the agent said only one option was available and when one was used, the other was not available....

So I asked but I have proof that I refunded - I want the transaction cancelled - the agent said sorry, anything else I can help you with. I was pissed off but I did not escalate higher up. Lazy on my part but I had other stuff to profit from then deal with CSR.

Thanks for your advice :) I don't want to risk contacting eBay since this is a stealth account and I don't want them to start digging, so I'll just eat the $150 in fees, but it's a lesson learned.

that's horrible. i guess it is not worth to open the unpaid item case against buyers. if you would've tried to cancel the transaction instead, would they have given you your fees back? never had this situation before

if you refund 100% money ebay refunds your selling fee automaticaly
