Aged eBay accounts = no restrictions

Hi guys.

I have read on numerous threads about older accounts having less restrictions than ones that are set up today. I read something about accounts opened before I think 2008 that could be verified and have no selling limits with a simple click of the mouse.

Does anybody have details of what year this changed or what years the restrictions were brought in?

Used to be the pre-2007 accounts were fine.

What happened was ebay reacted to the thousands of 'older' accounts being made active.

It is more prudent these days to be aware that 'older' accounts may have limits.

I wish it was otherwise.

But it is not.

It is a common myth that aged accounts, accounts with perfect feedback, etc, are immune to any issues.

My friend had a account that goes way back to 2003....they put a selling limit on him for 3 months or so when he started selling again...then it became unlimited...

Yes - I know too many folx who get these gem pre-2007 accounts then go ape on selling and get canned...asking what happened? thought it was immune? Don't think for a second there is a golden policy in place - still have to build up value in eb/pp eyes...in fact, they might be tougher on these older accounts that SUDDENLY jump back into selling.
