Default Customers just love taking advantage eBay has given them!

I have this customer messaged me the other day in regards to "not receiving the item". I checked the tracking number and it clearly states that the item has been delivered 2 weeks ago. I informed him that the item has been delivered and provided him the tracking number again. Further he states that he was not in town and his brother has not received anything. Than he started to threaten me but I was patient and calm. I advised him to call post office and if that does not work, he is more than welcome to open a dispute. He than informed me that he will just call his bank and get a charge back.

After 2 days, he messaged me again informing that he asked all of his family members and he found out that his brother received it. Further, now he states that the item is broken. I check each and every item before shipment and I pack them well. What are the odds of that.

I advised him to return the item and I will exchange it or refund the money. Than I realized I should just provide him full refund and let him keep the item, before he realizes that he can provide me a negative feedback.

I just hate how people can get away with such things. If he didn't like the item, he could of returned the item since I provide 60 day return policy on all of my items.

Do you not have postal insurance in the US?

Not that it actually works in the UK

I agree it is very annoying when this happens but I congratulate you on how you handled the situation. I'm afraid it's a buyer's world and always will be.

We do have postal insurance but I never had any issues with my items getting delivered. I always obtain an insurance if the item is more than $150+ but other than that, just a delivery confirmation is enough.

The customer right about now is probably bragging how he lied to one of sellers on ebay and got a free item. Most likely his friends and family members will try the same thing sooner or later on another seller on ebay.
