Ebay Shipping Insurance

Does anybody have experience with filing a claim and successfully getting your money back for a damaged item? I insured a $270 item and it was destroyed and I have filed a claim.

Why wouldn't you get the money back? Just provide all the info they request

Do they typically request that I give the item up or just show that it was damaged? I know the PO wants the item.

you will have to give them the item. They are buying it from you basically because they damaged it.

Yes, if you use ebay for printing shipping labels, when you add insurance, it's not through the USPS, it's through a private insurance company. They are actually way better than USPS insurance, they are alot faster and you don't have to give up the item to get paid. I was quite surprised.
