the idea of video verification is not bad and am sure ebay must be keenly reading this thread :p

This might be a test ,so they are just doing it on sellers who ask for higher seller limit
Ebay can lose lotsa fee but also by doing so they will prevent many scams

I think they may be a glut of accounts getting verified over the coming weeks if this is coming in. Eiher that or all future account will be one person in disguise!

I searched Google too but could find nothing. Not a single article. I also tested the limits increase button on one of my Hong Kong accounts and I get no video verification link, only one for Live Chat.

Would be nice if you could post the link to an article or post an actual screenshot. Obviously edit out your account name when posting it.

I can't find them in English but I found them google using keyword in Chinese "ebay 視频驗證" and it shows some information of it

I have been asked for that video verification for my account with HK ebay with my address in China. This is supposed to be mandatory to raise my selling limit. I'm wondering if this is required for all new accounts in China. Any body know? I wouldn't think so but thats what I was told on the live chat.

Yes, I heard the video verification happened for HK eBay account, just take a 5 second video, your limit will increase in couple days

Yes you do need to pass video verification to raise selling limit.

Just curious what's the policy for selling limit for sellers in other countries?

USA Policy: sell to your limits for a few months and wait for automatic increases, or call eBay and speak to a rep about getting a raise. I've never seen anything about video verification on USA Ebay.

I'm delighted to see only HK and Chinese sellers having this problem. It will curb competition significantly in a few of my niches :)
